Coilovers or springs?

Hi, just wondering what is better springs or coilovers. I've a 1.2ref and was wondering whats best? Upload ur pics 2 plz thanks!

what are you using the car for and how much drop do you want?

normal road use and 50mm drop = shocks and springs

for track use or big drops = coilovers

i have weitecs coilovers lowered 65ish mm

id say weitec high con gt's. made by kw just they dont have the stainless bodies. normally cost around £390. they are height adjustible and give a decent ride. unlike some cheaper ones which are very crashy bangy

no problems. if you want the best ride go koni but they are around £700

the weitec hi con gt's

i have the back as low as it goes with the adjuster caps in and the front as low as i dare go as the diesels sump hangs really low!!

i found the weitecs give a good ride for general day to day driving and they felt good around the nurburg ring althouth i did get some major scrubbing while going round carousel

mines about 65mm from standard

the top 2 are sponsers on here so might offer forum discount. also you should keep an eye on the for sale section on here as thats where mine came from. yes they wereused but i paid £50 and a few hours swapping the guys car back to standard

Ive just ordered a set of weitecs bud will get some pictures once they arrive i hope they are here for friday so i can set about them on saturday (hopefully weather plays its part and stays dry )

i have ap coilover on my cupra check out my readers ride thread in my sig

iv got the cups out of the back and lowered to the same heigth at the front, a can't get me finger in the rear arch

I've heard nothing but good things about AP's

if you really want to push the boat out get Eibach pro-street mine are awesome!

i got the weitec coils - i think they are really good - the ride aint much stiffer than the original springs on the FR mk4! i run mine wit the rear adjuster cups off and there is loads of room in the arch even with spacers! and they wont put stress on you shocks if you get lowering springs!
