Ok iam after getting a HID conversion but just not sure how bright to go. Iam looking at 5K or 6K ones, but i dont want lights so bright that i annoy people when tailgating on the motorway, or blind drivers on other side of the road.

Just wanted some help deciding

Are 6k brighter then 5k or is the difference just in the colours ?

From memory, I think that the higher you creep up the 'kelvins', the less light that the bulb projects? I would recommened 5000k, it's a pure white light where as 6000k is rather blue and looks after market...may be problem for you with local police if they've had a bad day.

correct, the greater the temp the more colour it has but less light. goes into blue then purple.

5000 Kelvin is the brightest white light.

for £11.99 the xenon shop do xeno-match bulbs which are a direct replacement bulb but not actaully HID. I had them in my Evo and against my brother Evo that had the proper £200 HID kit there was hardly any difference

hidsdirect do them mate, thats where I got my 5000k's. Really can't fault them :D

Just to throw another spanner into the works, H7 or H7R?

Strange, mine are completely fine and passed the MOT just fine

They looked alright mate and probably would have, but there was significantly more glare and had a few drivers flash me which I haven't had with the H7Rs

EDIT

There we go
