Well following on from my earlier thread I Took a test drive in the FR TSI Manual today, and I was impressed. I really like the setup on the whole, nice firm ride without being uncomfortable, very chuckable and agile feeling, plenty of power to have some fun with too, loads of torque and flexibility. Car feels noticeably more grown up and better built than my mk1 FR that i had too.

Yes the Cupra is a bit quicker, but for me a well specked FR will be spot on.

I expect to be placing an order very soon.

FR is indeed a good car and really other than a few badges look pretty much the same it is down to engines and brakes oh and the 1.5K ish extra for the Cupra. Looked at a MK1 FR a few years back and ended up with three 1 Series in a row. But MKII FL is indeed more grown up and ride of the FR so much better.

I have the FR TDi and find that all the car I need in day to day usage fast fruggle and fun. The ride on 17" is a good comproimise between firm and good compliance and a little less road noise.

Just a case of deciding on colour spec and wheels of course :)
