Had all the parts fitted last Friday while having my cambelt, water pump, tensioner and lower arm bushes replaced by MidlandVW.

Power delivery is noticeably improved with the new panel filter, Forge DV and TIP installed, the turbo is also slightly louder over OEM parts. The THS engine and gearbox mounts were also fitted but I've not been able to make the most of it yet due to the weather. My old gearbox mount bushing crumbled to bits as they removed it so I was glad that's been replaced. Front feels tighter now and I'm getting a bit more feedback through the steering wheel while the vibration increase is hardly noticeable over OEM setup.

Just got new front tyres and spare to come this weekend as both are around 2 mm. I'll get a better idea hopefully of the new mounts handling wise once I have new tyres and the mounts have bedded in and also when the weather's obviously better. I'll have spent about £1000 this month on the car after new tyres!

May modify the airbox and feed and then have a remap done later in the year possibly, now that the car's pretty much prepared for it engine wise.

Updated my first post and thanks for the comments so far.

Adding the THS mounts has turned out to have been a good mod to do. Traction especially in the dry is much better with a significant reduction in wheel hop. There also hasn't been any major vibration increase over OEM mounts.

I'm currently undecided about suspension, whether to go for Weitec Coilovers (least expensive) or H&R/Eibach sport springs and Koni FSDs. However following conversations with a member on another forum I'm slightly more swayed to go for the Coilovers at the moment.

Once I've changed the suspension and added anti-roll bars increasing power will be the next thing on the list.

End decision is yours however just my 2p's worth - I've got weitec 50mm springs and shocks on my LCR with whiteline rarb for nearly two months now and it's a really good set up!!

Obviously you need good tyres all round as well to complement the set up but that's my advice from my experience

I've been looking at Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers having been recommended them and people seem to hold a good opinion of them on here. I can then spend a bit more on Neuspeed front and rear arbs.

Had another MAF fault this morning within 4 months of the last one so I'm starting to wonder if my current panel filter has been over oiled. I might change the foam Pipercross panel to a Green Cotton panel filter anyway.

Finally settled on Weitec Hicon GT coilovers which arrived today with 25mm front and 28mm rear Neuspeed ARBs from Awesome GTI. Hopefully get them fitted by end of next month along with an Audi S3 upper strut brace, just need to see who quotes the least. Then it's a remap and hopefully I'll get to do the odd trackday later in the year.

A woman at work also reversed into me before Christmas so I need to wait for the insurance to sort out a repair. On the plus side she had the integrity to leave her details and claim responsibility.

Made a trip down to Awesome GTI on Tuesday to get the suspension mods fitted, which were Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers, Neuspeed ARBs and an Audi S3 Front Strut Brace.

The handling now is much better with less roll and better turn in, braking and accelerating is also improved. Just didn't expect it to go so low with a 20mm drop so I'm going back to get it raised 10-15mm next week as I've had a few problems with speed bumps and getting out of work's car park.

After this I need to sort some rust out on the driver side wing and a few stone chips then I can start thinking about changing the exhaust and getting a remap. I'll also need to look at improving braking before going on track later this year.

I'm looking at getting the Weitec kit, whats your opinion of them ?

Apart from being a little bouncy on the motorway my first impressions are good. The car doesn't crash over bumps now and I've noticed braking and accelerating is a bit better as the car doesn't pitch up and down so much. The handling through bends is much much better over standard setup but I think the ARBs and strut brace are playing a big part in this.

Hopefully the suspension should settle after I've done some more mileage and raised it a little but overall I'm happy with the setup I've chosen.
