I know we've had this before, but I thought that the electric folding mirrors on a leon were only available on the early, square-shape mirrors? I saw an LCR with tear drops and electric folding mirrors yesterday, confused me a little.

Also, has anyone actually retrofitted these mirrors to another car? I had them on my leon and they are about to write it off, I am weighing up whether I should go down to the garage and try and take them off the car before they scrap it, to either sell on or potentially fit to a new car.

Thoughts please?

Ive got an 04 plate, with tear drops and they fold??

If you can get bits off your old car then why not?? Especially if you intend to get another in the future.

I got heated, electric folding teardrop mirrors, if you already have electric folding square then its a straight swap if not I think it depends on what window motors you have.

Adam, just been giving ur "readers ride" a lil look - nice job :) I went for the LC rather than LCR due to replacing all the differences anyways with bigger and better parts, also a "cheaper" track toy! :D

Quick question, did you buy the color coded trim or paint it? I know of "special" paint which fills in the dimples in the black to make is smooth, then color code it................

Unless anyone has any yellow LCR bits ;) haha!

& how much did you pay for the heated elec tear drops? will swap mine over too!

Yeah I know of that I'm a plastic repair and refinisher.....or I used to be.

Not a good idea tho as you either have to mask them up on the car or try and take them off or restick them.......I bought the proper smooth ones and painted them.......I take it you mean the door mouldings?

I got my mirrors second hand but I think there about £3-350 new

Yer ill go for 2nd hand mirrors.............. or lil track ones ;)

Where did you buy the strips from? easy enough to just stick on are are they bolted in? oh yer the door mouldings

Teardrops that fold electronically here too, they also do manual folding ones.
Go get them, some cash to be made if you decide to sell them.

My folding mirror on the os is cracked (actually a hole) on the black plastic at front nearest the tip... does anyone know if you can change the plastic housing from a manual one?

can back that theory up
got a set of mirrors in garage. just need to get the motors, but after having an upgrade to 312 & 256 brakes done and mot & 100k service this week, window motor search is on hold for couple of months. and then autowindow kit so they fold when i lock & unlock?

man this site suck money from a wallet

Out of interest, what did you pay for them? Is pretty much everything held insdide the mirror cover, or is there a lot to pull out of the car itself? Was it a tricky install?

i dont think you can its the case of getting a new mirror me thinks:shrug:

Can;t see why you couldn't swap all the gubbins over?
