Hiya mate its really easy you push it in so it pops out, then pull the cup holder towards you and it will slide out. If its stuck in and you cant get it out (mines was) I used my credit card to pry it out then pulled it out completly.

No probs mate, anytime :)

Tincan did you sort this?

I have a new cup holder too and I know I need to remove the fascia to get the whole cup holder out. I can't imagine shaunk's solution worked as the unit literally does not fit past the fascia. See pics below.

Any help on how to remove this fascia to release the holder would be awesome!

Pink shows it's too fat to get past the fascia

Bottom one is the old one with the box still stuck in the dash.

ps I did search but the info was a bit unclear.

Thanks Lee but all that really tells me is to just pull harder with the pliers : (

I will keep trying and post the result of my efforts. All this for a bloody cup holder :wtf:

If you can pull the centre console forward, you can release the 4 'catches' for the drink holder from behind.....

Remove the radio.
The fascia panel surrounding the drinks holder etc is held in by two screws either side of the radio.

The centre console is held in by a screw outer bottom left and a screw outer bottom right.
Then two screws behind the ashtray.
Then 2 screws behind the fascia panel surrounding the drinks holder.

So DPJ when you say 4 "catches" do you mean these 4 - (2 blue circles + 2 yellow arrows)

As you can see I have bent the yellow ones up but I'm not sure how you would get to the two blue ones (if that's what you mean)

Thanks for your help :)

Sound mate. I'll maybe try slipping something in to release them then hitch the holder up to my dads Range Rover ;)

I'll give it a go at lunch time with the blue lugs and let you know.

Aye where did your drinks holder go??!!

Sorted! as you said DPJ, all four catches needed to be released. I stuck in 2 knives at the top and grabbed it with a pair of pliers and gave it a tug and a wiggle and she popped out!

Now what's this I found behind my stereo? an aerial booster?

Thanks for your help guys I really appreciate it

Ah ok thanks Lee. I'm guessing that box receives the 88.9 or whatever signal from the ipod cradle. I really need a new headunit with a direct 3.5mm jack and hear the true sound of the LCR speakers!

I use the 3.5mm to a connects2 that goes into where the 6CD changer would connect to.
I then press for the changer on my standard head unit and it plays my iphone music through the car.

You could flog what you have found and pay for one i bet :)
