sometimes doesnt select 4th gear

well i was driving along after sorting out my clutch cable and went to put it in to 4th and all i heard was a horrible grinding noise and it poped out the gear stick goes into position but it sounds like the gears are nto sysning or connecting but if i double clutch it and try putting it in it works occasionally does this sound like the syncro mesh in the gearbox please help


also still no indicators lol

Its not the gear box, its the selector cables from the gear stick to the linkage. They stretch over time and eventually snap.

My cordy SX did the same thing.

chamnged em 6 months ago as i double checked this also realighned em to be sure

it was a new gear leaver new lings and new swing arm in the engine bay i its not the weighted rod like on urs its slighty different but all other gears are ok just 4th ive taken it off the road anyway for a few weeks wth the tax and indicators need doing so ill have a fiddle lol

if you look at the throw weight, remove that and where the cable bolts to the arm there's play in there once you loose the second bolt that allows for fine adjustment. Even try to change the oil see if that helps.

thanks will have a look this was my thought about the adjustment but dont want to loose the other gears lol
