tbh at this point I have no idea.... using Bill's rollers I have seen 335 bhp all day long and nearly 350 bhp when pushed (gets a bit too hot though)... this of course is with an unfinished map (I gained over 20ftlbs of torque just resetting the fuel trims) as I haven't had the time to sort out the issues and get her ready for a final mapping session as yet...
considering all I had really done up till now is plonk a big turbo on the engine with little else in the usual supporting mods to get more power its not been too bad but hopefully this next bunch of mods should improve that... with the proper sized turbine and all the rest of the mods then maybe I can get 400bhp but who knows....

couldn't find the arbour for the die grinder and the dremel wasn't really man enough to remove that much material should be mate... might be in the afternoon though depending on the kids...

Productive day again today... replaced the inboard gaiter on the nearside driveshaft as it had split...
A bit later in the day Bill popped in after his week away (glutton for punishment that man) and so we got on with modding my FMIC for 60mm pipework :thumbsup:
I was considering getting Alex at AH Fabs to make me a new cooler and we could mod that meaning I would then sell on my old (and the first) FMIC once done but the issues with my turbo means I can't really afford to fork out for a new one to be made so we just went ahead and started modding mine...
...starting with cutting off the old outlets (gulp!!)...
...then marked up and fettled for 60mm pipes...
...tacked on some 90 degree 60mm alloy bends and fitted back on the car...
...refitted the bumper and...
Result!!! bit more work to do with working out the rest of the pipe route... this is not going to be a straight forward fitment like the original FMIC... the pipework coming off these outlets is not going to the same as the original piping with off the shelf stuff. We are fabricating the connecting pipes and taking a different route than the normal one but I'll have a look and see if I can work out roughly whats needed...
Will be doing a bit more tomorrow...

Busy couple of days sorting stuff out, turbo is away at last and hopefully should fine out the prognosis tomorrow...
FMIC is now repainted and on the car, I have been sorting out the pipework and nearly finsihed it all... finding silicon to fit the R32 throttle body has been a challenge but using a similar approach the to big turbo Polo that rolled out of Badger 5 a little while back I have gone for an SFS 83mm to 70mm straight reducer (in black of course) that will lead onto a 70mm 90 degree alloy bend that will then be welded to the 60mm pipework by skillage and magic...
I have also been toying with the TIP and positioning of the super size DV... I think I may have to compromise the OEM look a tad as I have far too many 'large' things under the bonnet to fit it all out of sight but I have a couple of ideas that I can try out once I have picked up the bends to build a new TIP as its better than just welding plates over the holes in the old one... there is only going to be one connection going into the TIP this time, the DV... the charcoal breather, N75 vent (as I don't use an N75) and PCV are being ditched... only thing going into my turbo is air....
Another job I did was to re-wrap the downpipe as even though the wrap itself had plenty of life left, it was looking a little battle weary from the early days before I sorted the mounts out properly and its position.... the prop shaft had cut into the wrap and shredded it a little...

Fitted my inlet mani to a spare head and put that on the engine so I could work out where the pipework would end up...
...awaiting the SFS reducer and 70mm alloy bend...
Now that most of the pipework was in, I though I had better try the bumper again... as I suspected, there was a minor bit of trimming that needed to be done...
This was the same both sides so I marked up the fog light bracket, removed the bumper and trimmed it a little...
Bill is welding the pipes up for me over the next couple of days and welding in a boss for the WMI nozzle ready for when I eventually go WMI...
Remaking the TIP tomorrow and working out where to run the pipework for the supersize DV...
My feet are killing me though... I usually spend most of my working day sat on my fat arse... this actual working thing is knackering lol

Did you find out what the bedding in procedure is for the Sachs clutch at all?

why would you want to go back to a stock sized throttle body on an APR manifold?
(going to presume some alleged mapping issue... is the reasoning.. albeit not the case on those I have seen and done)
hi bill,i've had 2 different tuners have a go at sorting the revs fluctuating at low revs but neither were successfull

FMIC and charge pipe work is now all done... just waiting on the arrival of the turbo thats having a new hotside and proper trim GT3071r core fitted.... can get on and make the coolant pipes and fit all the rest of the gear then...

Turbo finally arrived from CR today.... boy was I excited (sad but actual true!)....
Picked up the box from stores just before I left work for home this afternoon so I only had a chance to quickly look at the turbo before I set off... took a couple of pics..

It was then I noticed the box....
ARSE!!!!
Feck'n dumb ass Fed Ex mother feckers had dropped the box and damaged the V-Band housing....
Feck'n retards!!! will be giving CR a call in the morning to discuss
Took the opportunity to line up a K03, K04, my compact GT30 and Bill's not so compact GT35 for a bit of a comparison...
...hands by Welly (tm)...
...turbine comparisons... no K03 in this one as you can't really see it...
...and finally the difference between a T25 and T3 flanged hotside...
Bit of an anticlimactic day all in all... fixable but shouldn't have happened and of course even more time taking up space and ramp time in the unit to which I am eternally grateful to Bill for but would rather not be taking up space better used for paying customers
Anyhoo... at least I can get started on the coolant lines now even if I can't fit the bloody turbo to my new head yet and get it in the car... bugger!

The R32 throttle onto stock manifold adaptor will be available to purchase for £50 shortly FYi
