Got told some potentially awful news....
The garage that i called up about the
Remap said something about the '10 plate cupras having a locked ECU and may not be able to have the REVO? Has
Anyone got a '10 plate cupra with a map or can anyone shed some light on this?
Cheers, Steve.

erm, my boc is a 10 plate and I had it revo'd.......... i was under the impression it is the MY11 models that are a problem which should be on a 60 plate now if I am not mistaken. Best bet is contact REVO direct and see what they have to say about it.

MY10 should be doable.
Not sure about MY11 yet, but its always like that with new model years at the start, just give it a few and the tuning software will be updated.
There is money to be made, so dont worry they will make sure they can dump new sofware in your vehicle and take your monies! :p

Sorry slightly off subject but I know that it's hard for most stealers when doing a standard check over to see if you've had a remap done. But surely when you have a "Revo" sticker on your car they'll know immediately and be funny about warranty?

haha right fair enough! I'm prob going to have to wait until the warranty is out until i get mine done :(

Always struck me as an odd point of view that.

Remap in warranty and any issues relating to the map and your not covered.

Remap out of warranty and you have no cover anyhow

What's the difference?

For instance, no map and a piston blowing = new engine under warranty....with map no warranty huge bill....re-mortgage, no friends, no going out and a fooked car on the drive...

Your choice....

My old fiesta was a diesel so not many parts ever came out that would have of tempted me to risk the warranty.....my new cupra however, torture every time I read the forum lol. Don't think I'll risk it tho both front springs snapped on my fiesta 1 week before the warranty ran out. dealer wasn't happy.

Yeah, that makes sense.

So the issue is either there is little faith in the engine, or the remap.

Either way nothing to do with warranty, unless your gamble is if something goes wrong it will happen in the first three years.

Apparently the only way to tell if my car has a 'locked' ECU is to actually go ahead with the remapping process. Guess theres only one way to find out....

Il be extremly annoyed if it doesnt work! dying to get this map!

I have BIG news! My cupra is now booked in next tuesday at my local Revo dealer to get the remap done!! I will update when I have finally got it! Couldnt be more excited!

does it make a HUGE difference? I guess i'll find out soon but 1 week seems too long to wait!
