Before i did it and asked my insurance company i retrieved my original quote, then did another with this mod declared and it was only an extra £30. So over 12 months that's nothing. But as i said before they didn't even seem bothered when i told them and put it through with no alteration to cost for me.

Finally got it up, photobucket wouldn't take the upload for some reason...

Right did another "After" video. Well took a couple actually because despite being sunny the wind seemed to be picked up on the phone to easily so tried shooting it closer, which obviously means its more amplified than before so doesn't really help in that respect. But see what you think from these. Also sorry i shot the 'after' video in portrait without thinking so it's a bit narrow lol

Had embedding problems as well lol sorry about that

mmmmm can't hear much difference tbh but then again, could be vid quality. Did you notice a difference in sound mate?

I have definitely noticed the difference in sound while driving it properly not just revving it in the drive, i must admit i can't hear much if anything in that video lol not sure how to capture it without getting a unidirectional mic on the bonnet while driving lol

Its hard to hear a difference like this I guess. I think biggest difference is heard when the gas thingie is entirely open. (i have no clue what its called in English). And im not sure that is possible when you are in Neutral? 3k is also the rev limit i think.
I think biggest difference is heard with the cam on your dashboard and doing a 200m sprint or something.

I thought i heard a lil bit more "SWOOOSH" sound, but that could be cause the 'after' vid has been recorded a lil bit closer.

My induction kit has been shipped today, so should arrive in N.Ireland in the next couple of days. Just thinking though...my first service is coming up soon so might just have to delay fitting it until the service has been done...which realistically will be over the Hallowe'en period....really didn't think this through lol

Thought i'd give an update: I love it! Really loving the sound compared to before. Wish i had managed to capture the difference in the video, but like i said it's only really there when your driving it properly. I urge anyone that is in two minds about buying one, to go for it!

Glad you are enjoying it mate. Mine arrived today and is currently sitting on my kitchen table. The pipe / hose with the cord and plastic around it...do you remove both or just the plastic? I will not be fitting mine until I get my car serviced over the Hallowe'en break. No point in fitting now only to take it off again for servicing. Am really looking forward to getting it fitted.

Just the plastic :) Look forward to seeing what you think about it!

Just looking at the carbon fiber intake...there are no 'Forge' logos on mine at the moment (emailed them about this a new stickers are being sent out). Anyway...just trying to figure out if the intake should be facing a particular direction for fitting....clearly it should as there are differences when you look in either end of the carbon fiber intake.

Imagine holding the intake in front of you in both hands...which side should be facing the left or right when in the engine bay? I think I have a good idea and have shown below what I think...

I think this is the correct arrangement, but can anyone just confirm if they know. Thanks

I'll double check for you as i may be taking mine off on the weekend. But i'm pretty sure the bottom photo is the air inlet, and the top photo is the engine intake.

Now in regards to the forge logo that's funny because my "T" pipe had the forge logo on the wrong side lol

Yip...my T-Pipe has the logo on the underside as well. I think the arrangement in the photos are correct...they would match what you qre saying Splinter

I'm furious as my car's playing up again, so may get rid of it so will be taking it off :( Think it's gonna be harder getting the OEM filter back in place than it was to fit this kit lol

Might get some updated pic of mine up at the weekend, got another turbo heatsheild that is being painted as the original one went a bit flakey, revised painting method for that and the engine covers is flatted back down again for a coat of paint.

Just really happy to have it back after its leaky rad. Top job done by Clarks of Kidderminster.

Got my induction kit today but as u can see there is no forge sticker on the intake, can anyone confirm the correct way round to fit it, there are pics a few posts up as dave cup had the same prob?

Thanks

Right Dave, I had a good look at the kit. You will notice in one side that there is what appears to be a rubber-stopper kind of thing (excuse my technical terms). I came to the opinion that it had the potential to come lose...if that was the case and this side was fitted to the engine intake side, then it would get sucked into the engine = disaster.

There is every possibility I could be wrong, but when I fitted the induction it seemed to be functioning fine and sounded quite good.

Dave

Ps - look at the first picture in my post a few above about the same problem. The first pic in my opinion should be on the air intake side of the setup and not at the engine intake side (if you know what I mean)

Ok so on ur previous post with the 3 pics ur top pic would go on the right with the air going into it then ur bottom pic on the left leading into the engine?

Thanks

I think so...that is what I did - just because I thought the piece I mentioned could come lose and be sucked into the engine. Maybe someone with more knowledge would be able to comment.

I only had the kit on for a short period of time because my insurance company wouldn't cover it...I will re-fit it when renewing with a different company.
