Think prefer the astra but every complains about fuel. I think the only reason is becuase ive already got an ibiza nd the inside is exactly the same apart from a cupra badge

tbh though if you buy a turbo'd petrol car, bray it then complain about fuel, then your a co*k really, just seems to me people who do this like to moan

petrol cars (as a general rule) aren't very economical without turbos

i kno its gonna be **** on fuel but where as the astra ull be lucky to get 19 round twn where as a BMW 330 will do more than that round twn. Point is i dnt mind payin the fuel where the cupra sounds better for a less 20 brake and gettin more MPG out of it thanh an astra with 20 BHP more but eats more juice

i would get the tdi cupra only because i have one and its been mapped to 200bhp and 300lb/ft tourque cheaper all round tax is only £125 the year i only travel 6miles round trip to and i still save money, the gsi /vxr please note has a dread full chassie compared to the seats vauxhalls just wernt desined to go round corners

venner in the mk3 section had an astra gsi in arden blue, blew up his original turbo so upgraded to the vxr turbo with injecters, miltek exhaust system, mapped to around 260bhp. was an absolute machine, never been in anything like it. fuel was killer but an ibiza cupra is NOT anywhere near that kind of performace, go for the gsi mate

Eh, are you joking? Mines not far off that without even changing the injectors or the turbo lol plus it's allot lighter and not a vauxhall :| the gsi's are mint if your a vauxhall fan boy, my mate had an awesome one before his ed30 golf and I liked it and not bad at handling unlike what people are saying!

So your saying a standard cupra isn't as fast as a heavily modified gsi.

Well obviously not.
That's like saying a r32 isn't as fast as a turbo r32 lol

is the petrol Cupra massively lighter than the GSI though? and whilst the Ibiza isn't a Vauxhall, the flip side of that is that the Astra's not a SEAT, with Spanish build quality...£5-6 grand is getting into the likes of mk2 Octavia vRS money

yep 100 kg's more. At 260hp the gsi will have 205hp per tonne and mine at standard weight would be 209hp per tonne. ( 260 and 1275kg's / 245 and 1170kg's) and thats without mine been stripped out. Then if you want to bring hybrid and s3 injectors into the mix cupra is more than adequate to see the gsi mentioned above off. Just a stupid comment saying a cupra is know where near the performance of a gsi lol

Mk2 Octavia does nothing for me tbh, they are 200hp and limited by the ko3 and weigh around 1400 kg's.

exactly lol do same mods to the cupra and itd see that gsi off.

Obviously its down to personal preference. I almost bought a gsi after i had my 1.8sri corsa c but then saw the light :D

i nearly bought a gsi and decided against it, hence why i ended up building the corsa up as a track car,

and i agree, you dont buy a petrol turbo car then worry about fuel consumption, and an astra will only do 19 round town if you boot it everywhere, even my dad gets better than 19 in his v8 diesel range rover sport, and manages 18 in his bentley gtc so a astra at 19mpg is some bloody going
