bloody 'ell you guys need to drive more, in fact just to put a couple of miles on your cars for you, i'll borrow 1 and drive it to italy and back save me the plane fair :cartman:

so far bought mine in may 09 with 22k on the clock, now just hit 49990, so not bad going, and i still got a trip to scotland and cornwall to do buy the end of the year, so another 900-1000 there.

I actually cycle more miles in one year than i drive :bleh::happy: trying to hit 5000miles this year on my bike ;)

You should definitely get rid of the diesel then! They end up been more expensive for people like yourself who don't do many miles as they have the higher initial cost and fuel costs per litre over the petrol. I'm jealous wish I could get away with not doing many miles :(

I'm the opposite, I benefit from having a diesel but I like petrol too much haha

I'd say this isn't true.
Sure the initial cost is higher but the engine blocks are epic and will last for a very long time.
Also you can get (Best I've had) 700miles to a tank of diesel on a PD100 but with a tank thats only £5 cheaper you'll be lucky to get 300m.

My 1.9TDI was alot cheaper to run/tax/insure than my 1.2 was and fuel lasted twice aslong for a fraction more.

Then I bought an Ibiza Cupra... and it did the same economy as my 1.2

Paying 2-3k more for a car that's better on fuel, itl take you like 80k miles to recover that 2-3 grand you paid out initially anyway. So for someone doing 5k a year it is right what I said.

New in march 2008 now just 8750 miles

Prob not a economy move buying a diesel but I just like the cheaper ins, road tax and love that mid range punch :funk:

Bought mine Feb 08 with 31k miles now 94k miles :)

So far only needed a new clutch...the joys of a 1.2 simple engine!

I have a seat ibiza 1.2 12v and i've done 88k miles(=140000km) from 8/2002. However it started to lose power:cry:.. Any ideas for improvment???
