Hi guys.
Ive got a 2004 leon tdi 130 Remapped and was wondering who here uses dump valves and boost guages??
Seen quite a few forge dump valves for sale in the for sale section but have always heard from other people that you shouldnt use them but should use an air circ valve instead?? (not that i know what this is)
And also does anyone use boost guages??
And if so what are the benefits??
Thanks
Chris

Can't use DV's with TDi... doesn't work.

You can use DV's on diesels, but they don't have one as standard, so no point really. Plus a DV kit for a diesel is like £150

As for boost gauge, lots use Autogauge, readily available from Halfrauds. Can use whatever one you want though, have a gander on ebay, and see what takes your fancy :)

Very necessary. Helps you keep an eye on what your car is boosting too, and can help in the future identifying problems. Say, for example, you get a remap, and you know your car should be boosting to 20 psi, and hold 16psi. If when you boot it, you only see 16psi, dropping off to hold 10psi, you know something is wrong. With no boost gauge, you wouldn't know this

Pretty easy to fit them too, there is a guide on here somewhere ;)

but have always heard from other people that you shouldnt use them but should use an air circ valve instead?? (not that i know what this is)

A dump valve is atmospheric meaning it releases the pressure into your engine bay but on the vag cars the require this pressure so we have to use recirculating valves at least that how I understand ;)

What makes of boost guage should i be looking at?? Theres so many on ebay alot of cheap ones too.
Would like one with a mount or pod.
Also i have got a remap but i dont know nothing about what boost it should be running.
I'd probably take it somewhere too be fitted also or pay someone too do it for me.
id only stuff it up otherwise :)

What map do you have? I'm of the understanding that diesels boost higher anyway with regards to the boost gauge you get wat you pay for IMO auto gauge are ok but I'm investing in sone more expensive ones shortly for new gauge pod :) I might have a pillar pod available but depend if you Cupra or cupra R as mine cupra and the trim is creamy ocular not black ;)

Guys another couple of questions :)
Im looking at debadging tomorrow.
Ive previously used a credit card and tar remover and always get some light scracthes.
Is there a better way??
Also when removed im going to get a Neverbeen ring sticker.
Ive seen alot of leons with them on and think they look good.
However what size do most of you go for?? Any pictures??
And my leon has a towbar and a bumper cut out.
Regardless of the cut out i want too remove the towbar.
How do i go about doing this??
Thanks

guys on ebay looking at autoguage boostgauges theres is one that goes up 10 20 30 and some go up 0.5 1 1.5 2 :S if someone could post me the link too which autogauge boost gauge id need id be very grateful :)

Iv got it bit it varys most garages/specailests will work in bar but it easy to convert I like psi it a bigger number ;)

Decided on Autogauge and the reading in psi I thibk. Does the kit come with EVERYTHING I need? No extra little bits I've got to pick up? And also where can I mount it other than the a pillar? And where can I even buy a mount or pod?
