Had my car a couple of weeks now and some lovely person has already reversed into it, cracked the front bumper and driven off.
Anyway, done about 1,000 miles already (gf lives in Newquay), really liking the handling (driven a couple of these before) and general driving experience.
Just put a pair of new Kumho KU31 tyres on the front.
Got 57mpg and then about 50mpg on the next tankful, but I was flying down to Newquay at over 100 (GPS) to make up time so that's not bad ;)

I'm looking to get her serviced before VAT goes up and I want to get her remapped just after that too.

I've done plenty of searching but not finding much on remapping.
How much should it cost, what should I expect and where/who would be recommended down South?

Hoping to get more power, torque and cruising mpg. I cruise 240 miles to see the gf and the same distance back most weekends so should get decent mpg with a remap?

Would the remap be a problem at service time, not sure how it all works, Seat wouldn't wipe it off or anything would they?

Also thinking about trying Biodiesel, maybe 50-50 mix during winter.

Thanks for any help in advance.

1.4tdi pd - 75bhp standard but with the likes of revo you can see gains of upto 105bhp for about £350.

wouldnt be a problem during service, might see a slight increase in mpg.

1.4 petrol will see very little if any gain at all.

you might as well run your car on tar if your thinking of using bio diesel, so dont bother.

I don't follow...

Biodiesel is a superior fuel to cracked alkane Diesel, surely it should see some gains, clean the system and return more mpg (higher calorific content), and it's cheaper and carbon "neutral"?

I haven't got much in the way of an in-depth response on here so far.
I think I'll give JKM a call and see what they say, hopefully get it fully serviced, mapped and Cruise Control fitted all at the same time, should make it even more fun to drive :)

pd engines do not like biodiesel, the viscosity of some can block the injector nozzles rendering the car useless i.e low power, smoking its **** off ets.

i think I've read that they confirmed it could be used on 2002-2004 models, maybe they changed a part that doesn't support biodiesel...

i had my 1.4TDI PD80 Remapped by Custom Code for 2 years

It rolling roaded at 105.2bhp and made a hell of a difference
