Hi there,

As far as I know this is the unit you get in the Seat Leon which has a 5" screen.

It seems it has an slot for an SD card, I supose the right thing to do is transfering the maps from the DVD to the SD card, did you get it or you have to buy it, what is the needed capacity?

On the other hand does the nav works fine? Are you happy with it? I think you also get some arrows in the instrument cluster because otherwise screen is too low located!

Its part of the seat media system which is a cost option I think. I had it bundled in with the technology and convenience pack.

You do have to buy the SD card, not sure on the capacity needed for the maps but I stuck an 8GB in mine and its working very well :) The initial install is a pain, but once it's done that's it.

The navigation itself is pretty good, it's tried to take me on the odd dodgy route but other than that it's on a par with the TomTom I used to have. The directions on the MFD are very good, displaying the junctions you are approaching with a countdown etc. It also adapts to changes in traffic conditions, diverting you around road closures and things like that.

i've had a couple of occurances in mine where its took me off the motorway to avoid traffic only to drop me back on at the next junction down but overall its been a good system. No worse than a tomtom without traffic mastering.

i went for a 16gb SDHC card in mine, copied the map across which seems to need approx 500mb of space and then dropped a load of MP3's onto the card as well. the mix all feature on play back works well

I've put an SanDisc 8gig SDHC in (just ordered a 16gig for more media) and that seems to be working fine. Yeah the initial copy took 30 minutes which was annoying and I can't see any speed increase reading from my SD over CD (minimal). Bonus though I can play CD's again.

Just looking at finding some maps that have 7digit postcode's I hate the 4digit search!

Looking at: http://gpsunderground.com/forum/sho...agen-RNS-310-Seat-Media-System-Skoda-Amundsen

Will keep you posted

I think that the 4 digit postcode thing is a limitation of the firmware of the 310 rather than the maps, I've been having a look myself. It is definitely not supplied as part of the newer V2 (2010) maps just for reference.

A friend's just had a firmware upgrade for his scirocco's rns-510 which enabled full postcodes, and if it's only just come to the 510 I don't reckon that the 310 will be getting it soon, if at all :(

Fingers crossed though! :)

UGH I used to have a Chinese MFD2 in my first Leon that I fitted myself and I installed IGO8 with 7digit, but for this Leon I thought I'd go for the factory option, so disappointed I didn't compare them closer.
( As on the IGO8 it wasn't the system software that had the style of postcode, it was built into the map file as references ).

No DVD playback, inch smaller screen, and now only 4digit postcode!

Ok thanks for letting me know it's a firmware issue, saves me searching through maps! trouble is I haven't seen anywhere you can even hack into these "media systems" to load new firmware or even new OS :-(
