is there a way we can upgrade the key fobs to the 3 button keys or would i need to change the locks and ignition barrel

my central locking was so tempremental i decided to leave it lol i always use the key

hmm i may have a look into this then seen a nice carbon fibre one haha

A flip key is not listed for this model, as far as I know you can't get a 3 button flip remote to work for this model, you may be able to get the key rail to work and the transponder programed to the car, but the remote won't work

there are ways to get it to work

and it will obviously not be listed for it, you just need to look in the range for the right frequency the standard key works at, then cross-reference this with the other model keys

as for the blade, you just get it cut to suit....voila, so that's easy

harder part will be the RCL (and you are better off getting a 2 button one, 3 botton has one for boot release, and normally a much higher frequency)

You can get a flip key remote to work its a two button one though. Needs to be the right part number. Theres many threads in the mk3 section and some in here.

i was looking into this a few weeks back becuase i cant stand the keys and fob. but my car has a Scorpion alarm fitted to it(dont know if thats standard??) i spoke to the Seat Dealer and he said that flip key is no problem. but the alarm i would need to speak to Scorpion(a little difficult from Germany though lol)

Scorpion alarms arent standard fit, but a two button flip key from late 90's VAG should be good
