Oil in spark plug 1

i seem to be geting alot of oil in the first spark plug hole, i think it increases everytime i put more oil in. so i keep having to remove oil every so oftern with air compressor out the first plug as it gets soaked, all the other plugs are fine. is the some sort of gasket that has possibly failed. i know iv got a leank on the exhaust cam oil seal but this shudnt cause this would it, i was made aware when i got my cambelt change a few months ago, wud have got it done there but no 1 had one in stock and i needed the car to commute to 40 miles there and back to work.

i got quoted 60 quid labour for the exhaust cam seal to be repalced after is that the norm. and what do you guys think regarding the oil in plug hole. any input is welcome. cheers guys.

Sounds like rocker cover/cam cover gasket. Had one go on previous car, running rough, no power. New gasket and plugs and back to normal.

Had a garage do it while i was at work. It was a couple of years ago and was about £100-£130, can`t really remember, but i had a oil and filter change aswell.

New gasket, oil and filter, and forgot to mention a set of plugs. That was a all in price as i sourced my own parts and then got the garage to use them.

lol i got quoted beween 100-130 for the rocker cover after i had a look and realised its a cambelt off job.

No it isn't cambelt off job mate, head gaskett would be, and you wouldn't he quoted 100 for a hg lol

i spoke to 4-5 garrages all saything the same thing, the first garage i went to said it and i pointed out that a member of the forum said it is an easy job even i can do it and he said to me, it nromally is but with the 1.4 engine the camms and followers are attached to the rocker cover or something?? Even went to a local garage where a vw trained technician works and he said the same thing. ?

if only i had the money and was a little more older i would have one but even if i get a cheap one pre facelift itl cost me 5k for insurance. im only 20 lol
