Hey all i own a red ibiza mk4

I currently use triple wax car wax by carplan and find it is very easy to use, works well and is very cheap to buy (2 500ml bottles for £5 from Asda)

Tried alot of other waxes and polishes over time by turtlewax, simonz, meguirars etc but never realy noticed a real difference

Read that this is meant to be very good, anyone used this, or know if it is good ?

Looking to buy some better car wax or polish (when i run out in the near furture) and want to spend no more than about £20 (couldnt justify spending anymore on car wax)

Anyone know what gives amazing results and protection to paintwork in their experience

thanks :D

I'm gonna assume you mean wax and not polish (seeing as their two different things)
For under £20 I don't think anything can touch meguiars #16

It's actually one of my favourite waxes in any price range. Very easy to use, gives excellent protection and is long lasting. What more could you want?
Did I mention it lasts for yonks and costs peanuts?

It's too expensive for my liking

£8 for a bottle that last me more than 6 months on my car, dads and mums car, can't really complain at that tbh. Would spend much more on carplan tyre spray which goes all over you alloys making a mess.

rf860 is that wax easy to get of your car, bought some of their booster wax before in the tall, purple spray bottle and it was a nightmare to get of the car, kept smearing into the paint work.

Although agreed their tyre gel is amazing even better than jet black bumper restorer my simoniz. Use it on dashboard, black strips on paint work, under the bonnet and on my tyre walls, very good stuff in deed

what do you want durability or bling ? for durability look towards Collinite 476, for a mixture look towards the dodo juice range, going for the sample pots. They last for ages considering the size of them.

I found Colli 476 to be a nightmare to get off an un polished panel.

In the thread title you said polish / wax. Which one are you after because both can have entirely different properties?

If you like to be done quick then I highly recommend getting a separate polish and wax which may exceed your £20 budget.

All in ones I recommend

Sealants base AIO
Ziano All in One
Werkstat Prime or CarLack 68

Wax based AIO
Dodo Juice Need for Speed
Autofinesse Triple

For a polish and wax AIO product it would have to be Zaino AIO or DoDo Need for Speed.

For just a wax under £20 it would have to be Megs #16, Collinite 476s and Nattys Blue.

Nattys doesnt last very long though... maybe 2 months in my experience. Megs #16 looks nice and lasts well and collinite lasts the longest but trades off in the looks department imo.

If you could push the budget a little more than you could look at some of the DoDo Juice range of waxes in full size which would offer better durability and looks but start at around £30+

Thing is, your going to get hundreds of different opinions on what people think is best based on their experiences so the choice will be down to you based on what you want to spend and what you are ultimately after. TubbyTwo got it spot on though... unless you are prepping the car properly in the first place no wax is going to last that long or look that good.

Agreed, which is precisely why I think a majority of people should really go for all in one products as they prep the paint in one step. They will never be as good as separate stages but they will get a decent finish overall.

I do agree with you mate but if someone expects an all in one to then perform like a wax and it clearly doesnt they then give that product a bad review.

As harsh as this may sound the truth is the majority dont actually realise there is a difference... how many people do you see putting AG SRP on the car and commenting on how good the finish is etc. Then 2 weeks later when the weather and wash routine has removed all traces of the product they wonder what went wrong cause there was no LSP applied.

I appreciate that a lot of people are not sure, hence the questions posted in this section and i'm always happy to help people understand the whole mine field that is detailing / valeting or whatever you want to call it.

I discovered this wax called Colonite, really good stuff, isnt too expensive either! A coat of auto glym super resin polish followed by this gives a pretty good result!
