ROCHESTER, KENT
I want to get the rear windows tinted, but can't see how anyone will be able to tint the plastic bit where the door opens, anyone got it done?

I havent had mine done yet, but will so soon. I read some where on here that you just use that vinyl wrap stuff, which is the only way

I guess so. But from what i read, as i havent done this yet that seems to be the only way. maybe someone knows a better way. How much darker are you thinking of going?

So you be alright if you going for limo tint with black vinyl. I recon you would'nt tell any difference between the two as your going for that. Should look fantastic. Have you had other cars tinted before, as they are quite dangous for you and other road going users, as it lets no light in and you dont know they are behind you, in daytime and night time. I know you got your side mirrors to look at but i found it was like driving a van with no back window, takes a bit of getting used too. Im still going to do it cause it looks awersome :funk:

HIDS and now very dark tints ey? Your cars slowly becoming a police magnet ;)

IMO i think the darkest tint legally allowed is actually ok and looks good enough.

My old leon was factory tinted, and wasn't a problem at all, this is my 2nd car so I've not had any experience with after market tints, but I don't think it should be much of a problem mate

just get gloss not matte / satin vinyl ...

i have a mate who owns the local window tinting / wrapping garage. so ill be getting limo on all rears, gloss wrap on the 1/4s.

U can notice the difference, bit it's acceptable I guess, looking nice. How much did you pay for you rear limo tints? I got a quote of £160 for a mobile tint which would be performed on my driveway

lol... was meant to be noticeable, as got roof done same, plus badges and front quarter light, didnt want shiny went after satin deliberately for a slightly different look.

tints....around £160 and of good quality..... look here

then check out tinting and wrapping tabs...... and yes this is where mine was done

Fair enough mate. It says £120 for medium, so I guess £160 is a bot much, but I'm in Kent so it will be too far to travel

Just got a good quote for tinting near me, guy said he will do limo tints on the rears and anything I want on the quarter, so needed a bit of advice really, should I get him to put Matt black vinyl on the outside so it shows, or on the inside so it just looks black, what will suit my car more?

Standard window tints on the back plastic come out a purple colour and doesn't match the windows at all. Vynl wrap on the other hand is a very clever idea :)

so true, you will certainly increase the chance of being stopped & remember pass and driver windows have to be lighter otherwise the plod could issue a MOT retest relating to the visability
