On track they would leave it off. on the track its all about the pilot. traction control can sometimes slow the car down out of corners if ya have mastered the art of balancing the throttle and weight shifting

This sounds like a daft question but are you sure it's wheel spin and not your clutch slipping?

No question is a daft one. No bud defo spinning up will have to price some tyres up see if that helps tbh I can't really see it helping will just have drive it sensible from now on yay lol. I'd love to have a go on a track day although I'd prob rite it off (agen) lmao.

I've learned over the years that cheaper tyers are ok in the dry but crap in the wet. As im sure a few other people on here have! Yes some of the cheaper tyers do rely on a softer compound and some have duel compound. Once you wear the sticky top compound there crap.
The expensive tyers have had a lot of money spent on the tread design and the correct compound. As Wayne Rooney would say, you get what you pay for.

I am it's weird at the moment when I ease the power on it gets to a certain point then just spins up anyway lol and it's dry round ere!! When ppl use the track do they turn the traction control off or leave it on?

I never drive with the Traction Control on, it comes off at the same time as releasing the handbrake when I start it up. On track it can (will) slow you down as well.

Haha I'd feel like the biggest arse in the world if I payed 140 for each tyre, unlucky!

I'll be quite happily paying that much (and more) per tyre for my next set.

I don't like to skimp on the only thing keeping me on the road. Different driving styles suit different tyres

^ what he said.

I can't believe people who spend £000's remapping/tuning/brakes to go and spend as little as possible on the 1sq ft of contact area that holds them on the road. I'll be spending nigh on £800 on my next set of tyres, but hey, we'll see who can stop first when required ;)

Just to add my 2pence worth if i am welcome. I too would never skimp on tyre's As said they are the huge part keeping you on the road. I always go for the big brands i.e. michelin, pirelli, yokohama etc

Iv got some Yokohama tyres coming next week for after my stage 2 upgrades! Got michelin's on now! As people say it is the only thing keeping you on the road!
Ak

cheap nasty plastic tyres (spun 1st & 2nd) to yokohama parada spec 2 (tiny bit of spin then lots of grip)

enough said

parada's are very interesting in the wet lol! which i why tend to drive abit more reserved in the wet but there not bad in the dry for a reasonalbe price aswell

I've never been a big fan of Yokohama's I find they wear very fast. Lots of grip in the dry though.
Are we now at the point we should switch to winter tyres weather wise?

winter tyres are for lower temps , think 7 degs an below which i imagine thats for most of us

something to do with the rubber compound something like silica helping it not to go too hard under colder temps

sounds a bit like viagra haha
