Water/meth - anyone done it on a Boc/Cupra?

I'm looking for some info on how the 1.4TSi takes to some extra fuelling.

I would have thought it would be a very good modification to do as a 50/50 mix should increase octane significantly whilst the water should give a good amount of intake cooling. Should also help keep the internals nicely steam cleaned too!

Also looking at comparative prices if anyone has any (including fitting)

Devilsown its the one with better price... and the 30 psi progessive seems good for the 1.4tsi. I want it but i need to do other things first like the intercooler :p
 
Devils Own is the one I'm looking at getting. Nice simple kit and not overcomplicated like Snow Performance kits can be.

I like it and seems good for the tsi, here there is a boc with water/meth from snowperformance. But for what they charge for it I rather do it myself in a friends workshop.

I think the polo has the battery in the boot, if thats the case I'll consider to put the pump and the tank under the bonnet where the oem intake was. There are other ways to do it, pump and tank at the back, or even use the whippers tank as the water/meth this is probably a good idea if your car has some sensor for low level.

Devilsown seems a very legit and without the excessive price of other brands.

Right now I'm working on the battery since mine has it in the bonnet, and I really want to get ride of it to access a nice intake and probably a water/meth. There is an used boc with the battery in the back at the dealer, I'm working doing a trade of the battery's stuff to get mine with the battery in the back :p and don't spend big money on brand new parts.
 
Yes, I'm looking to put mine under the bonnet where the battery could have been.[B)] Don't know how hot the liquid would get there though.:confused:

There are tanks with heat proof for the bonnet, and other for the back.
 
If i was going to buy a kit it would definatelly be the snow performance, from what i hear its the best one.

My local tuner has fitted both Snow performance and Devils own systems. He says the Snow Performance ones are good, but are overcomplicated for what should essentially be simple. He rates the Devils own kits as they work very well and are simple to fit, use and maintain. [B)]
 
Quick update on this....

I'm having a Devil's Own water/meth system fitted on Monday next week. I have a race battery in the rear of the car which has reduced the weight by around 8kg and the spare has been ousted in favour of the squirty repair bottle, fitting the water/meth and having a full bottle would add back around 10kg to that area to help redress the overall balance of the car. The initial positioning of the bottle was going to be under the bonnet where the battery would normally go, but I wasn't sure about adding another 10kg high up front on the car and the added issue of the heat soak for the water/meth mix, so thought it best to avoid it. The bottle and pump will be out of sight as not to take up normal boot space and the injection point will be just before the throttle body.

I'll take lots of pics in case anyone is thinking of doing it to their Ibiza.[B)]

Ive seen you on vagoc. Have to take my hat off to you, it seems like a brilliant mod for this engine. I dont know enough about water/meth other than what I've read and have no hands on experience with it so was waiting for someone else to take the plunge with it to see how it works plus my cars back and forth to the dealers every other month for misfiring so would have to keep taking it off etc. I want a reliable car first before i go for any of this. That said, the block temps are part of the problem so with this water/meth its going to be very beneficial. Dont know if you have a stage 1 map but with the water/meth you could probably use setting C on revo(race fuel). People have found even with stage 2 + intercooler+ induction kit that they can only run setting B. Cant wait to see these results.

One thing...........are you looking for a custom map for water/meth so as to increase bhp and take full advantage of it. Or are you going to use as a bolt on to take advantage of the cooling and reliability properties? Then if it failed for whatever reason, the engine wont be harmed. You would still see gains i think because, correct me if im wrong, the ecu can adapt fuelling to some degree because of water meth, obviously not as much as a custom map but a good start to begin with. Keep us posted!
 
I'm not particularly looking for ultimate power from the car and will be using it daily on stage 2 Revo on the normal setting B. For trackdays and 1/4 mile sprint days I will put it onto setting C a few days before the event to allow for adaptation and then once the event is over revert back to setting B. It is the cooling and cleaning properties of the mod I am interested in, but any extra power is a bonus. I'm being quoted around 10-15whp on setting B after adaptation and another 5-10whp on top for setting C. [B)]
 
Cant wait to see the result. This has the potential to be a must have mod an could make these engines reliable. How much do you expect block temps to be reduced by?

Block temps on this type of mod are a bit of an unknown element, but on the TFSI 2.0 they are reduced by around 10%, so I'd hope to see similar results on the 1.4TSI.
