and before i forget if were talking petrol, Bigg's unfounded arguement doesnt stand ;). The FL FR is a TSI and the Pre is TFSI. its about 10 bhp different and the FL is also better economy and better tunability. about 260bhp from stg1 whereas Pre is 240-250 i believe.

spoiler? thats on the rear and pretty sturdy tbh, so wont get stoned chipped to hell like the front bumper. 2mins ill find the best pic with splitter

Sound mate thanks, Next question haha! best springs? and where to get from? bearing in mind im keeping standard wheels

eibach sportlines on the CR, had Prolines on the PD but there was still a lot of clearance so was never happy with them. Pics in my album show difference a bit.

Damian from DPM on here can supply them to you, but if you need fitting as well it will depend on whereabouts you are. I got mine supplied and fitted at Awesome GTI (also on here). You will need your alignment doing as well so dont just get them fitted by your local mechanic cos it will ruin your tyres after a bit, and its cheaper paying for the alignment than replacing 4 tyres :)

What drop do people go for? because i see they do a 35 and 50 drop?

CR? PD? lol sorry Newbie :)

well i guess it depends on what car you initially put them on, there pretty much the same sping for the leon across the range. iirc sportlines is 45mm front 35 rear. Prolines 30mm front 25mm back. I think they just left too much room imo. The prolines made it look like it was factory, with the factory springs being too big and the sportlines actually make it look lowered.

Dont worry about PD/CR its diesel talk for the different FR engines from pre to FL. You need to worry about working out TSI and TFSI :)

the 35mm eibach sportlines give a really nice stance guessing 50mm would be scraping ?

out of curiosity, does the FL tailgate fit on a pre FL car? for those of us after the new-style LED rear lights

i know its a wider rear window but I couldnt find any info on this

lol thats it!

Come on then where are these facts, i would slate you but your not CC anymore so im under mixed allegiances here.

stg1 cr is fast than pd but thats because of a crapper dpf, so this will be based on stg2. So bring on the proof :)

SEAT Sport won 2 WTCC Manufacturers titles and 2 drivers title's with PD powered cars

Sunred wont jack 5hit with the CR Powered Leon's

FACT.

P.S WTCC cars also have DPF's

lol you cant use the WTCC as proof, are you suggesting the drivers were of the exact same skill? thats like putting alguersuari in vettels red bull and expecting him to get the same lap times. face it, even if they do get more bhp out of the tractor lump, the more linear gearing and delivery of the cr makes it more usable and therefore faster.

you forget that i have had both of these cars?

Disagree I an all out sprint the power delivery of the Pd would be mote beneficial due to it's more aggressive delivery especially higher up the gears. I've drove CR tdi's standard and tuned. Dsg and manual. And yes they are more refined. But they are a petrol wannabe
With smooth delivery and not enough revs. A lot like a disappointing s**g.

i Agree with bigg Ive got mum and dads Common Rail at the moment while my PD is away and my god its un exciting.

The Leon FR is supposed to be SEAT's attempt at a Diesel Hot Hatch, Hot Hatches are supposed to be unsmooth, When they created the Original MK1 Golf GTI i dont think they where bothered about how smooth the engine delivered its power. Once you start mixing Hot Hatch and Smooth your just going to end with a Family Hatch again. Take mine for example, Stripped out interior, lots of noise, lots of rattles (Solid Engine Mounts) thats how a hot hatch should be!

As BIGG has also said, If you go and ask Ben yourself! and i was there when he said it (Also bear in mind that i am not a 5hark customer), Ben and Mikko agreed that the PD will always be more powerful when matched with like for like Mod's.

And just for your records Gabriele Tarquini drove/drives for both SEAT Sport and SunRed so yes they where of the exact same skill :p:p:p

lol this is two against one here! fine ya geeks i still think real world the cr is faster and thats after owning both of them. i think the pd wasnt as good higher up the rev's felt more breathless but that could be because as you say its more like a petrol but i dont think thats a bad thing especially if im getting better mpg than both. dont we have any santa pod footage to end this?
