trublue, why dont you just go for stage 2 since you have the exhaust?

Wouldn't that be costly though due to having to upgrade internals?

I would be happy with that power off a stage 1, stage 2 wouldnt get much more would it? From them figures it looks simular to stage 2 power anyway?

I could be wrong though.

It's only the cat back I have. For the price of a new downpipe etc I can't justify the small gains over the revised stage one. I have seen a few similar figures for revised stage one. Can't help thinking revo won't sell as many stage 2's if ppl have the same train of thought as me.

Hi Guys new member just wondered what you guys think should be next mod before remap, i have a 2002 cupra but its only the baby 180 bhp.
Its had turbo back cobra sport exhaust, Forge recirculating valve and i have smothed the air box and fitted a green panel filter and got a 3 inch cold feed pipe to the back of the light at the moment an ideas???

Silicone turbo intake pipe (TIP), then you're good to go for stage 1. If you want to go straight to stage 2 then you'll want a front mount intercooler too.

Someone was asking about the Revo linear map - I had this put on mine a couple of weeks ago, was on standard map before. Car feels a bit more predictable and civilised at low RPM/normal driving, feels pretty brutal under high boost. The state of tune is the same as normal Revo (i.e. same boost, fuelling etc), it's just the throttle response map that is different - it's linear now (hence the name), so 50% throttle pedal = 50% throttle plate angle. On the stock throttle response map 50% pedal might = 75% throttle plate.

I haven't had mine properly logged or on a RR yet but I did a quick 3rd gear run using the Torque app for Android and saw a peak airflow of 210g/s, which I make out to be 262.5bhp. That said, I didn't quite hit the redline and I was in 3rd, not 4th. I'll hopefully get some logging done this weekend and post back.

Yes thanks 8bit i was looking at a Silicone turbo intake pipe (TIP), have you any idea what i should be looking at hp wise with the tip fitted and the stage 1 as i cant afford the Intercooler yet ???

trublue,
your probably right, if you went full turbo back, thats a good few hundred yes?
stage 2 is known for holding the boost up top, but in reality thats hardly needed since you not always ragging the cr*p outta it.

anyways, good to know everyones getting really decent figures from the Stage 1 Linear.
The boost is so much more responsive now. love it.
I wouldnt be half satisfied if i didnt have an intercooler though. the increased performance and heat soak would be a downer.

Did it cost you much to upgrade to linear map?

Torque app... What phone do you have this on? does it plug in to car?

Cheers

I didn't upgrade to the linear map, not from another Revo map - I meant I had the stock, Seat factory map on the car before, just chose the linear rather than normal Revo stage 1. I gather the linear map is £50 more expensive than the normal Revo stage 1 map, not sure if they offer that as an upgrade though.

I had Torque running on a first generation HTC Desire until recently, have an HTC Sensation XL now. You use it with either an OBD to WiFi adaptor (needs root access on the phone) or OBD to bluetooth. The bluetooth adapters can be got for about £20 from ebay and don't need root access.

Not sure, sorry - not that familiar with the K03S cars personally. Check out the likes of Revo and Custom Code's websites, they'll give rough idea of what sort of figures you'll get but remember they are just a guide, and to be honest figures are a bit meaningless really except for pub talk, the real difference is in how the car drives and feels. Mine now pulls harder in 4th than it used to in 2nd, which to me means more than any bhp or lb/ft increase.

I use momentum 99.... whats the thoughts on that fuel?

Momentum 99 is great fuel.

My car was mapped at AmD and was religiously using v-power. I have used tesco 99 recently as my Shell has been closed down for refurb and not noticed a difference in performance. Only thing I would say is the exhaust seems a bit 'sootier' than when running v-power.

I found I got a bit less mpg out of the Tesco stuff than V-Power but I didn't notice a difference in performance, both were equally good.

I upgraded from Normal Revo Map to LINEAR. it cost me £50
So if your car is unmapped then it will cost you the normal 3-400 quid to get it done from scratch

I went from a Forge TIP to BADGER 5 TIP and noticed an increase in about 10bhp (roughly).
to be honest ive never been a bhp man, its the torque that matters n i went from about 280lb/ft to 294lb/ft. (of course this is on a LCR, it will differ for your car)
additionally the badger 5 tip holds the boost far far better, meaning that the power delivery is smoother and much more constant.

i have noticed a slight overfuelling issue with the new linear map. head over to the REVO section of this site and look for the thread if you wanna know more.

mines was hovering around the 250 mark when i first got it mapped.

try a open cone filter. good results. good sound
bit of lag though

I haven't found that with the Tesco 99, but then my fuelling is 11% out while I have this boost leak :( lol.
