Good find. Im not really sure how this works. I know people have had problems using the full blow off system whic uses a spring and actuator. People found product support to be poor because with a revod car forge could not tell them which stiffnes of spring to use and for a remapped car you would need that stiffer spring. I wouldnt rush in with this

"The actuator is actually the wastegate actuator. When the boost from the turbo reaches a pre-set pressure, an electronic sensor opens and allows a vacuum to be formed, which opens the wastegate, which stops exhaust gases from forcing the turbo round any more - they just exit into the exhuast down pipe."

According to the internets

Try talking to Forge, I have found them to be very helpful when speaking on the phone and email.

It increases the boost in simple terms....and can i just say forge the work your doing on this engine is very commendable!!!!

Almost right - under certain conditions anyway.

Some actuators on certain cars can "bleed away" boost through the actuator being forced open under high boost conditions, this is due to the OEM spring being unable to cope with the higher boost levels, especially in modified cars. The Forge offering will come with a choice of springs - a stiffer spring for modified cars running higher boost and a lower rated spring for stock cars. The only advantage you will see with a Forge actuator over an OEM actuator will be if the OEM actuator cannot cope with the higher boost levels. I personally haven't yet seen any empirical proof that the OEM actuator has "bleed away" boost, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
On another note, the actuator will need setting up right, it isn't a simple plug and play item. The actuator rod will need setting to the correct length to work properly otherwise you will lose power, rather than gain from it. The one on my ED30 took quite a bit of fine tuning and was in a pig of a position to get to....at least the 1.4TSI actuator is reasonably accessible.

Any problems please call . As we make the product we will have the answers

could you tell me what colour spring you would recommend for a stage 1 tune, ie revo stage 1 plus induction kit and the forge intercooler. Also would the spring need upgrading between stage 1 and 2 or should it be able to happen.
Would be usefull if each spring was designed for each stage of tune
