BILSTEIN B8 for TOLEDO 1M

Hello to all! First post here!

My car is a SEAT TOLEDO 1M 20VT Signo Plus

I bought the BILSTEIN B8 code:35-046387 (old code: F4-VE3-4638-H1).
I used a set of KW lowering springs, but I have a bumpy ride. I want to use the OEM springs which I have.
Their specs:
Code: 1H9 411 105 F
Color Code: 4 white + 1 blue
Pressure : 160 lb/in

Can I use the without damaging my B8s?
How will they effect my driving experience?

If I remember rightly, the B8's are shortened dampers designed to be used with lowering springs. They cannot be used with standard springs. The B6 can be used with standard or lowered springs, the B4's are for standard springs only.

I expect the B8's wouldn't give you the range of travel that the standard springs require, they would keep hitting the end stops.

The oem springs are about 2cm lower. My car had sport suspention. The data above is from etka.

With 20mm lower would the B8s work?

I'd say there is a big difference between what SEAT call 'sport' and what Bilstein consider as 'sport'!

From what was described to me, it has to be proper lowering springs to work properly, not merely a slightly smaller standard spring.

What would you suggest?
Buy a new set of springs?

To be honest, if you want a softer ride the problem is the B8's. If you do a Google search for reviews of B8's on VAG cars, they are considered to be quite hard and harsh. You might want to consider replacing them with B6's at the very least, or even the B4.

I put the B4's on mine with standard springs, they made the car feel 'new' again but some may consider them too soft. They suit my driving perfectly though.

Maybe I'll search for softer lowering springs

What make of tyres are you running?

Changing to a tyre with a more compliant sidewall could help with the harsh ride

My tyre is 205/55/16R michelen pilot sport 3

I dont really think that the tyre will do the job....
I might put the stock spring on for test and will see

Michelin are known for compliant side walls, I doubt a tyre swap would help.

You could try a shortened bumpstop with the current springs,

I had a Golf estate with a weitec suspension kit and Michelin tyres, the car was comfortable but the handling was disappointing, I swapped to Toyos and this set up was everything I wanted.

I expected you to say you were on 18 inch wheels

The problem exists inside town roads, on the highway the car is superb.
Comfort and handling dont go together I know, but I just try to improve my ride a little in city roads.
About the bumpstops, can you suggest me any etka codes?

About the rims... I can sense every detail of the road, and also I must inform you about something:
- The toledo 20vt signo plus, has silent blocks from cupra/s3 the solid ones.... mine are replaced (by me I thought they needed to be replace) thats how I found out...
