Suspension Thoughts

I've been driving my Ibiza for 7 months now and i've noticed the suspension seems... bouncy? I don't know if anyone else thinks the same but does anyone know a way to make the suspension stiffer without forking out for new springs and shockers? I'm a bit on the skint side

Standard Ibiza suspension is total poop very crashy over bumps - either ploughs through them or bounces over them and you keep bouncing for the next few miles

Apparentley Fabia VRS suspension is much better and can be had quite cheap but might also be wrecked if you buy second hand.

Best bet is to save for a bit and visit DPM Performance on here and upgrade

i wouldn't want any stiffer suspension as in my opinion its way to stiff and crashy at the moment,never had a bouncing problem though .

i will be fitting vrs suspension at the end of may so will find out if there's any improvement in the ride,only cost £40 from a guy on briskoda so worth a go.

I ain't sure if bouncy was the right word but Chris summed it up for me haha. Let me know how that goes, I don't like the standard suspension and might do the same if it goes well

To be fair, the standard ride on mine was so bad, when I changed to coilovers (KW V1's) the ride was much better, but was helped by having 45 profile tyres on 16" wheels.

Even when I had 17" wheels on 40 profile tyres for a bit they werent as unpleasant as my standard suspension haha

I had all my tyres changed and found them aall at 45psi. That made going over speed bumps horrendous. I definitely need to change the suspension, i feel as if its gonna give in every time i drive over bumps

will do m8 and yes we all know what you mean about the joke suspension

i was even considering changing cars but fitting 50 profile tyres on my 16" winter wheels has made a big improvement.

I wouldn't want to get rid of my Ibiza, i love it too much! Obviously i'll need to change the coils and the shockers right?

How old is it and is it a sport/fr/other? If it's bouncy like you say, that's generally a sign of knackered dampers...
I've got a facelift FR, and really don't get all the fuss about the suspension. Yes it's bloody firm, but seems fine other than that. It's not a patch on the stiffness of an RS4!!

It's 9 years old and just a bog standard Ibiza. Bouncy was the wrong word really, they way Chris describes it is perfect. Maybe it does need new dampers to be honest. Still gonna look at upgrading it though
