...contemplating getting rid of the cupra and going for an exeo estate

Been looking at this one:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201213459431861

What do you lads think??

What's the boot like? Need to be able to fit a bike in plus gear. It just about fits in the cupra but the boot opening is shite

Anyone gone from a turbo petrol to the exeo estate?

I know it'll feel slow in comparison, just hoping it doesn't handle like a bus

Any advice you can give me would be appreciated

The boot and the opening are fine. Not the largest compared to estates of a similar length, but that's the downside of a boot that's not shaped like a Volvo ;) I haven't tried fitting a bike in though.

My 143 is every bit as nippy as my old 2 litre petrol estate, indeed with the turbo it actually performs better. The 170 sport gets lots of positive comments here from what I can see.

That said, if you can find one with Xenon's (HID) I'd hold out for that. The difference between Halogen and Xenon is night and day - if you do any night driving it's well worth it.

I went from a focus ST to the exeo st 170 and don't miss it that much . Only a little down on power but it will be getting chipped soon. You should have no probs getting a bike in the back at all . My ST still runs around in Washington .

I'm sure Nath has had an Exeo & a Leon, not sure on what engine's through. .

He had pd170 and then cr170 mate

Cheers for the.advice lads. Found one with xenons, the dealers haven't bothered ringing me back, they're obv not desperate for my custom are they? So I'm being a stubborn c**t lol

I don't wana get rid of the cupra but I don't really have a choice if I want to go on my bike more

Think I'll ring the dealer tomorrow as I am really keen on the car that they have for sale, shame they're arseholes lol

Nose heavy barge compared to a hot hatch

Luxury in the suspension department though

All up it's a nice wagon though.

Buy the octy :)

Keeps the better chassis to at least have fun and massive space inside.

Trust me - bikes is why I have mine now, and I really wanted to want an exeo

I looked at getting a VRS tdi estate, but I think it will cost more than the exeo. Is it worth the extra?

Do you have a bike rack for yours??? Can't imagine a bike fitting inside a saloon lol

I've fitted three with three people inside before now!

Currently sporting a roof rack for holiday though

3 bikes and 3 people in a saloon? how the **** did u manage that? lol!!!!!

I've got a roof rack, but my DH bike would be too heavy to be on the roof!!

One of the lads has a thule 3 bike carrier which is tow bar mounted and it is class. That's why I was kinda considering just getting a diesel hatchback and a tow bar mounted carrier:shrug:

But if I have an estate, I won't have to fork out £300 for the bike rack and then **** loads to have a tow bar fitted

What do u reckon??

Yeah I think so. It was two local guys to me and we just kept stuffing bikes in. Had to start with my 29er though as its massive and pop the seat posts out but they all went in

But for one bike I can move one side of the rear seat forward slightly and pop the wheels off and it's in.

Sounds good mate!

Is the exeo a hatchback like the octavia is? or does it have a boot like a saloon??
