ive got a 2008 steering wheel from a seat ibiza fr,now hes my question will this wheel fit a 2002 ibiza/cordoba,too what i can see the air-bag is differnt but if i remove the radion controls it looks if it may well fit,any ideas lads before i take it to bits

sorry yes cordoba is mk4 and steering wheel is off a mk4 fr,cause its got steering wheel controls on the mk4 fr has a smaller air-bag,but iam sure if i remove the steering wheel controls the air-bag will fit, well hopefully

I'm pretty sure they should be a straight swap. How much did you pay for the steering wheel? Was it the one that ended on eBay a few days ago at £50?

yep and its brand new, only bought it cause my run about the cordoba has a plastic one on it

Knew I should have had a bid at that haha! Mine is pre-fl FR, so has the leather and radio controls, but doesn't have the metal playing on the bottom with the FR logo, which is the only bit I'm after! I think, and it is only think, that the airbags should be straight swap, and it's only the plastic covering that's a different fitting.

if it dont fit ill sell you it at cost

Does this apply to pre-FL steering wheels with multi function controls? They certainly look the same, though I can understand the standard pre-FL airbag not fitting.

As far as I'm aware, pre facelift's weren't available with steering wheel controls.

A facelift steering wheel will fit on a pre facelift, but the steering wheel controls wont work on it as the the car hasn't got the capability for them. You could retrofit it, but it would be very expensive and not worth it.

Pretty sure the pre-facelift FR has the steering wheel controls as that was one of the only things different between my TDi sport and his fr TDi.

As I said as far as i'm aware they didn't make one, never seen a Pre facelift with steering wheel controls, because i've never seen a pre facelift steering wheel with the controls!

EDIT: A quick google took me to this : http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=355500

So steering wheel control were available on the Pre facelift. If the car came without them, adding a steering wheel with controls wont give the car steering wheel controls, because they have nothing to connect to.

Just get a facelift steering wheel without steering wheel controls.

the airbag is bigger on my cordoba facelift but the fr sterring wheel airbag is smaller due to the steering wheel controls, iam hoping when i remove the steering wheel controls the it should take my bigger air-bag

What are you going to do in the blank spaces where the controls would be? (if it fits that is!) you won't be able to use the wheel centre you have now, as it's completely different shape.

the airbag is bigger so it will cover were the controls are,
