Golf R caliper retainer/clips

Does anyone know were i can get a hold of the Golf R caliper retainer/clips. Want to change the tacky ones on my K1 but can't seem to find them any were, even on Ebay

Also does anyone know what size decal would i need to fit on the retainer?

Yea supose i will give the dealers a call tommrow. But some members were sourcing some from ebay etc last year, so wondered if anyone could direct me any were cheaper...

Why have you already got a pair of R retainers?

Why not get some caliper decals from ebay..

Ive got the OEM red retainers on mine just gonna get some R decals stuck on them

Gonna do the same on mine too. Will clean them up and a coat of paint (will do the hubs at the same time!) and put some K1 decals on mine.

Would they have to have a layer of clear protection applied to stop them coming off from heat/jet washer?

They look better with the r retainers though, but if they cost a bomb i wont bother getting them.

Yea that's my second question, apparently you should use the caliper decals as they wont melt when calipers get hot only problem is they seem to be pretty big for calipers starting at 70mm, 85mm, 100mm......

Oh and i can' find any K1 "caliper decals".

I'm on the case about this as I'm after the K1 logo...made contact with them and I'll get things sorted on this and let everyone know. Also asked them about the 'R' decal for the Cupra R.

Will get back to you and might start a new thread.

Yea mate let me know as i'am after the "heat resistant" K1 logo for the calipers too.

Just phoned local VW dealers and they told me the retainers are £35 each! Even the guy at the dealers was surprised, looks like ill have to do without if i cant find any cheaper. Not going to pay £70 for a pair of plastic clips

Sounds about right from what the Golf ones were going for. If yours have gone rusty (like mine and the hubs) do the usual painting with hammerite etc. (search for loads of threads about it) and once painted then the decals can go on top.

I think it will look better on the retainer to be honest....if you paint it silver (as it should be) then the red of the 'K' will stand out.

Not much room on the caliper to put the logo on, really could do with the retainer

I've have some feedback from the chap. He's going to get the K1 logo designed and I'm going to give him the retainer clip dimensions so he can make sure that this logo and also any others, i.e. 'R', Cupra, FR etc. fit on.

Can anyone confirm if the retainer clips on the 'R' are the same dimensions as the pre FL Cupra or in my case the K1.

Damn that's expensive, about 2 years ago I bought about 10 through ebay for no more than 20 Euro's/pair and the seller told me he allready made a good profit on them.
They do look good though and are easy to be wrapped/re-badged.

Yep, VW taken the piss with the price. Wish i bought them last year, cant find them anywere apart from dealers.
