Hi guys
Guy at my work has just bought an 07 fr tdi with btcc kit!
It has sat nav and obviously CD player . But the question is when it's on playing CDs it shows no disc in 1,2,3,4,5,6! Does it have a cd changer somewhere or does it go in the front and load in the head unit? If so how!
Many thanks
Ak

Hiya mate, im not going to be much help, but they're usually located in the glove box. I know some head units, double din ones, have changers built into them, so you would feed the disks thought the single CD slot, one at a time and they'll sit in the unit. That might be old tech though; i remember a relative had a system that did that.

I've looked in the boot, glovebox, passenger seat hole thing I got nothing lol

Ha, weird! Maybe its showing as not having any discs because it doesn't have anything to play them in. Having said that, if it didn't have a changer connected to it then why even display anything like that. This is odd. I think that not many people must have looked at this thread, someone out there knows the answer. And you're sure there's not like, a little compartment tucked away like some BMW's & Audi'shave for the changer unit? Sorry fella, I'm at a loss.

If it's like the one in my mates Passat you just keep loading discs into the head-unit itself. Try that. It'll either take the extra discs or not.

On my old 56 plate fr it was under the drivers seat. If its an RNS does it not load the 6 discs into the head unit?

you should just push the button for the disk you want so 3... then it would say empty wouldn't it? then you just put a cd in and click another number.... Thats logic for me obviously I dont have any evidence... :/

...and possibly/probably fitted an Aux input box, so the headunit still thinks there's a changer attached, but you just plug your phone/generic mp3 player into the phono plug

...now you just need to find the plug ! :p LOL
