Medway, Kent
Morning.

I've got an ongoing issue with my Ibiza 1.2tsi that Hidsons rainham haven't been able to fix. They've had it 3 times. Total of 7 days. And each time say issue is resolved, bullshit me what they've done but problems still there

Nothing major, an annoying clicking noise, relay switch sort of noise, whenever I put foot down on throttle. - last they told me it was a bit of loose trim!!!

Any way, is there any other garage I can take it too that's not miles away, with in 1hrs drive of Medway ideally.

Liam

Jammytoad,

You could try Westerham Garage in funnily enough Westerham Kent near Biggin Hill. It's about 45 minutes run from Medway.

Brought my LCR from there last year and personnally had brilliant service.

Apologies if any rules broken by giving out telephone number

Hi Jammytoad,

I can back up The Old Codger re Westerham Garage, I've been using them for years and always had good service from them. They will contact you before they start any expensive work you have not been warned about. They seem to realise we haven't all got shed loads of cash to spend!

Good luck on getting it sorted.

Unfortunately I've had some bad experiences of Hidson's in the past too and despite being my local dealer would not go there again with my new SEAT. A few years ago I had a Kia which had a slight paint run on one of the doors from new so they re-sprayed the door, managing to make a right hash of it in the process: you could see visible lines around the door handles and window trim where they had masked these off to paint around them and not even bothered to try and blend the old and new paintwork. As if that wasn't bad enough, another time I took the same car there for a service, I came back to find the car in the car park, windows wound all the way down in the pouring rain - leather, carpets, everything soaked and covered in leaves!

Anyway, when the time comes to get my new SEAT serviced it's definitely not going anywhere near Hidson's - I think it's definitely worth the extra half hour to Westerham.

In the interests of fairness, and just to balance things a little, there is a thread on here somewhere stating in quite a lot of detail how Hidson's spotted a potentially dangerous break problem on someone's car that another dealership missed. So I suppose Hidson's, like most places, have their good days and their bad days.

I've recently took my Leon into Hidsons Kia in Medway to have a starter motor and cambelt change. Picked up my car last Friday (in the dark) and upon inspecting when i arrived home, my car was completely scratched all down the passenger side. I took it in the next day and one of the salesman (bless him) polished out what he could for me. Still not impressed at all.

I have taken it there a few times now to have a few issues sorted. Took it there again yesterday to have a diagnostics check and they've told me that they no longer wish to work on my car because I have had a few issues with it and it could be opening up a can of worms (wouldn't that be the case for ANY car?).

The whole point of me taking it to them is for them to fix it. Plus, as they said, they are well aware of issues with the TFSI engine. They should be fixing it if I ask them too, even more so if they're aware of issues with this engine.
Any other dealer would be desperate to get my money.

Hidsons Kia/Nissan in Rainham are not helpful at all, at least not now. I don't blame the main service guy I speak to in anyway, as it's his boss who has taken the decision to not work on my car again.

I will be writing a complaint to Seat UK about it too.

My car is completely standard - no mods in anyway. Just bits that are common on the early MK2 Leon's.

I can understand if I was abusive, threatening, tried to claim against them etc. But, the service guy said its nothing personal to me, they just don't want to work on my car again.

I had my car in at Hidsons Rianham last week with a knocking noise when braking, They replaced my front and rear brake pads and a n/s/r tyre, They were all very helpful and the price was good too, Well done

So, I have spent about an hour sitting here writing about certain events that I have recently had with Hidsons (Kia and Nissan Department) but have decided i'm not going to give them the satisfaction of being able to screen shot my comments, as I know they like a good old snoop around this page :)

I took my Leon there just to get the radio code. Booked it, was told 45 minutes, ended up being there nearly 2 hours for the job. Theres a younger guy in there who is very helpful and seems a good lad, but then there is a middle aged guy who was not helpful and i found him a bit rude.

Yep, the young guy was helpful when I went there. But there is one guy in particular who is bloody rude. And when I complained about it, they got some old woman to call me to discuss it, but she was no better!

Customer service/looking after their customers does not seem to exist at that place.

I'm a little further east, outside Sittingbourne, but I've been going to The Motorist Center in Hersden, on the Sturry road out of Canterbury, for more than ten years now. When I first got a diesel Ibiza I tried all the local dealers, Medway, Maidstone and Canterbury before settling on them. When the Ibiza needed replacing I bought my first Toledo from there.

Back then it was a main dealer, now they're independent. Their pricing is always fair, the waiting area is the showroom and is clean and tidy with coffee available and I can speak to the man who's doing the work, and see what he's doing if I want to.

It's about 35 miles from Chatham, most of it M2/A2 so about 45 minutes.
