Fitted Aero wiper blades this morning just in time for the hail, so I also got to test them. They are the nuts!!! a must buy.

I received and fitted my 4 bar s3 fuel pump (albeit yesterday). Finally matches my 4 bar fpr that came fitted to the car when I bought it... Over 2 yrs ago Haha! Replacing what appears to be the original 3 bar pump by the filthyness of it, which should be well tired by now at 135k mileage and been mapped stg 1 for about 65k of that with a 4 bar fpr

On a strange note, the 4 bar pump is much quieter... Is this common? Struggle to hear it now, used to be obvious...

Why would it cause an issue? It's the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail that determines fuel pressure. So if it was a 3 bar fpr with 4 bar pump, it would only run at 3 bar.

It's been revo mapped with a 4 bar fpr. Which ran on a 3 bar pump for many a year, no issues.

But ive got a low mileage k03 053 sitting in my kitchen to be fitted. And as its 4 bar fpr anyway I thought it would be better to have a 4 bar pump to match. It's been fitted for a few days. Feels stronger on boost now, makes me wonder if it was struggling for a while.

Remember, if you run a 4 bar fpr on a 3 bar pump your making it deliver 4 bar fuel pressure at idle, if your running 1.5 bar boost then you'll be making the pump supply 5.5 bar pressure on boost!

Hence why running a 4 bar s3/Lcr pump with an 044 Bosch or 255walbro in line with it is recommended for big power big boost applications.

Why would it cause a problem?

I dont know hence me asking...was only thinking it mightve been a pointless mod. Ive got them to fit to mine but was waiting for my stage 2 map.
