EDIT: Okay so tehy dont like that link.

Been looking at ebc pads too. Yellow or red stuff, that is the question. I'm thinking red stuff, forum talk says EBC pads are crap though, is this true?

I use yellowstuff over red stuff mate. Its a matter of opinion on EBC pads, some people love them some hate them. I quite like them and have ran yellows for a while, only trouble is they dont last too long. There were stories of them breaking down but I've never had or known anyone to have that problem.

Have you tried searching for ds3000 pads?

Been reading a long time on these forums but signed up just to reply to this. I live about 5 minutes from Cadwell so will pop up, like everyones said the instructors will brief you well enough but just going on local track knowledge just wanted to give a few pointers.

Watch out going down park straight (the back straight which isnt actually straight.) Heavy breaking zone at the end and often see people run straight on there.

Another place to watch out for is coming out of mansfield, left hander at the bottom of a hill, now assuming the cars arent running with the chicane in you go round a long but shallow left turn and then come into a fairly tight left hander at the bottom of the mountain, again nothing major to worry about just could have some fairly heavy breaking and as far as im aware (havent been up to the track over winter) theres now a bridge over the track just before hand which may leave the turn slightly unsighted.

Then just common sense over the mountain, your steerings going to go very light at the top so be careful not to have too much lock on. And believe me its alot steeper when your on track than the cameras make it out to be.

Cadwell's an awesome track and youll love it. Cant advise much on the car as I dont own a seat yet. Definately be out for a look.

Thanks JJCas. Much appreciation for the insight :) feel free to pop up.

Yeah they dont run with the chicane on trackdays so it looks to be a hard left right before the mountain.

getting pads/fluid and alloys put on wend'. Yhen ive gotta get these pads broke in before the track

Redstuffs mate. Gree stuff for road, yellowstuff for road/track upto 200bhp and redstuff for road track over 200bhp(according to their blurb). Hopefully they will be alright, They would be better than OEM pads anyway. I think EBC has a really bad rep from years and years ago and theve worked hard to change it.

You still going chris? What car you in? Black Civic?

Also guys, can't find an oil temp gauge on the obd scanner I Have, but I've got coolant temps, intake temps catalyst temps. At what point should I get "torque" to warn me about coolant temps. Normal/spirited driving they are between 80-90°c

Good luck tomorrow mate, make sure you don't end up with bits of tribu coloured plastic all over the track!

If you mean FL mk5 cupra, its a different badge, I asked David @ Seres to look for it for me ages ago, gonna ask him again soon now the launch of the FL is on the horizon
