I've just bought a 1.2tsi Fr, which I'm loving but I'm having real trouble activating the speed dependent auto locking. I've tried the way it says in the manual and I've looked through the other threads on the subject but I can't seem to get it to work.
So far I've tried:
Turning on the engine and waiting a few seconds and then pressing the lock button
Turning on the engine and waiting a few seconds and then holding the lock button
Turning on the engine and then pressing the lock button straight away
Turning on the engine and then holding the lock button straight away

What am I doing wrong? I'm sure it shouldn't be as difficult as I'm making it

Any help appreciated

erm just keep hold of the lock button i think when i did mine. i did mine sat at the lights fiddling around haha

When I set my auto door lock, I did the following and worked first time! Here's what I did.

1) Unlocked the car got in and closed the door behind me.
2) Put the key in the ignition and turned the ignition on but didn't start the engine.
3) Pressed the lock button on the centre console and held it down for approx five seconds and released it.

Job done!

Point to note though, the light does not flash while you are holding the button down. When you release the button the light flashed three times (at least mine did) and that is it set.

Good luck.......
