I really hope someone can help.

I have been told that i had a leak on my manifold to Turbo, i was told it was any easy job just three bolts, so i got the parts Gasket and bolts althought the bolts came in a bag of 4

Took it to my mechanic today different to the original place due to location, he could not find a leak anywhere and said that gasket didnt look right as it was too small and he was faced with four bolts coming to the dopwnpipe.

I popped to a local powerflow dealer and he also could not find any leaks and said the same about the 4 bolt gasket.

Are they looking in the wrong area? I tried to have a look and couldnt see the three bolt area at all?

I have looked online and found images of manifolds with three and four bolts but not sure if they are just aftermarket parts

So do i A have the wrong parts?

B are they looking in the wrong place?

C if they are for both the above is it an easy job to do and where do i need to point them, does the turbo need to be removed?

My advice would be pop to the local dealership, ask them if you can have a look at the parts diagram, also thy probably don't charge the world for a new one, usually cheap for gaskets etc.
As for weather it's leaking, do you have any symptoms or problems?

Thanks for your reply, i have searched on the internet this morning and found some guides on a Golf forum and also a blown up diagram on a german site, the parts i listed do look correct and the two places i went to was looking at the wrong gasket / joint for the leak.

Looks like you access the bolts and the gasket from the top once the heat sheild is out of the way.
