The only F1 Assymetrics he can get are run-flats, yes. He's the guy I always go to. Happy with them and their prices. I'm funny like that :)

I had T1-Rs on my Tolly 180. Best tyre i had on there. I had Eagles before and the factory Bridgestones before that. I reckon was on course to get 20k out of them, dont think they are that soft, although obviously depends on how much you chuck it about. I have Eagle Assy 2s on the LC now, and they're OK, but i think i prefer the Toyos.

I'd buy Goodyear F1 Asy' 2s from Camskill at c. £103 each, which also yields a £10 fuel voucher for each tyre. So, according to my 'man maths' that works out at £93 a tyre. Note: AFAIK only Camskill is offering the Goodyear fuel voucher deal.

And IMHO it's worth noting the F1 2 is A-rated for wet grip and C-rated for rolling resistance/MPG, whereas most 'performance' tyres are E-rated for the latter ;)

no the F1 asy 2 is Fuel Eff.: E Wet Grip: A

i can recommend Continental ContiSportContact 5, its £106.00 from camskill, have them on my leon and its a great tyre.

According to Goodyear's website the F1 Asymmetric 2 is between B and E for for fuel efficiency, and between A and C for wet weather, depending on the exact spec that you go for. I've eventually found someone local doing the 225/40 R18 92Y extra load version that I want for a little more than I wanted to pay, at £139 fitted. That one is rated E for efficiency and A for wet weather. The C-rated fuel efficiency version is the run-flat extra-load version, but at £190 a tyre, I don't really care :D

So I'll just stick with what I know and get more F1s, rather than switch to another brand. Thanks for the advice though guys

Indeed. And if you specify 225/40/18 on Goodyear's website, it's 'C' for fuel efficiency and 'A' for wet performance - as shown here :)

This is getting confusing

So, I just went on Goodyear's site, clicked 'Find tires that fit your vehicle', then clicked 'Find by car model', entered the appropriate make/model/etc details, which produced a list of '225/40/R18/92/Y' tyres that includes an F1 Asy' that's rated 'A' for wet and 'C' for eco :)

Useful Evo tyre test results, calculated using an Audi S3, here. Click tyre make/model for real-world punters' views; the 1st-placed Conti and 2nd-placed Hankook don't score so well with users, whereas 3rd-placed F1 Asy' gets punter approval. [Anyone fancy a set of Acceleras, a Chinese budget tyre, which "lacked grip, composure and safety when the surface changed to wet"]

Let's just say that the tyres that I have on now are 225/40R18 92Y, and that's what I want to replace them with. Not a downgrade in speed or load, and not run-flats. And nobody seems to be able to get them :(
