Well not been much of an update for a while, I changed jobs and started using my car daily for a 14 mile round trip and 5 months later lost that job, 2 days later I started a new job but now doing just over 40 mile round trips, lots of miles, high fuel bills and consumption.

Due to working 6 day weeks and not having a lot of time ive only just got round to sorting out an issue that was discovered when I attended an AMD rolling road day.

Went to my first proper meet yesterday down at AMD for a rolling road day :D spoke to a few people and got the car dyno'd but found out the car was making about 30 bhp less than I expected and was told by the guys at AMD it had boost leak :(

So in the car park I removed the shim from the 008 Dv and it was also pointed out too me that the hose from my charge pipe to my front right intercooler had slid off so put that on and the car felt a lot smoother on the way home. Think I'm going to get a smoke test just to check everything's ok though

Well today I finally got the car back to AMD explained my problems and took one of the techs out for a spin in the car, had the car checked over and a leak was found on the hoses that sit under the manifold so I had them replaced and some more diagnostic work was done. This has cured the problem and the car was put on the rolling road and made 284 hp with 282 lb/ft on the first run and 287 hp with 271 lb/ft on the second run :D

Dent still remains and wheels are still horrible and ive been neglecting the car for a bit cleaning wise but treated it to a new set of front pads recently but the inside pads on both calipers wouldnt come out or go back in without a fight so might have to look for a set of 2nd calipers to get refurbed, also been pricing up for stage 2 :p

Made the decision today, the cars got to go, costing me too much money in fuel and im doing 40 miles a day in it to and from work. Just replaced the rod inners yesterday and had it realigned, gunna get the dent fixed and the wheels redone, mot next week and possibly put it back to standard based on what I can get for it with / without the extras. I've really enjoyed owning this car it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and the way it pulls is amazing its so planted and leaves a lot of cars stood still, its been so reliable with only wear an tear parts needing replacing and one boost leak in the time i've owned it, really going to miss it but needs must and I need a diesel now :(

That's sad news mate. I had to do the same thing, well kinda lol, got a job with a 42 mile round trip that would cost me £50 a week on fuel alone so gave the Leon to the missus to use for her work during the week (exactly half the weekly mileage) and bought myself a mk6 fiesta Zetec S tdci. Only £30 a year tax, £150 a year insurance and averages 50+mpg. A winner all round.

Sad times buddy but needs must :(

A 330d would be a fantastic replacement though! Really amazing what they're capable of, especially mapped!

It really is had so many plans for this car *sigh* prob going to a be a couple of months yet before it goes. I knew someone with a 330d and it had either 500 lbft or 500 nm and 60 mpg wins all round

Serious torque. Talk to Maz on here if you're serious about buying one as he's lived with one. I went out in it and the thing is so smith yet so powerful. It's an awesome car.

Well I've been looking around for a replacement for the Leon and I haven't found anything. Recently my circumstances have changed, im about to move into somewhere slightly cheaper to live and also i'll be doing 50 less miles a week as im moving to a different area so looks like the Leon is staying :D

And lastly 42 Draft shifter bushes.

Car feels a bit different seems to idle smoother and pull a bit better and the bushes have a made a difference to the gear change. I have got a forge quickshifter to go on as well which im hoping to get on one day when I have a spare bit of time

Good buys mate, glad you're putting the shield and filter to good use.

How do you find the alloy boost pipe from Forge? I found the same with the TFSI coilpacks, silky smooth.
