Remapped LCR vs Hybrid TDI??

Just out of interest witch do you think would be faster between a remapped Leon Cupra-r (265-275bhp) against the likes of a vw bora tdi 130 with a hybrid turbo (230bhp ish with about 400ft/lbs)

My mate had a 130 bora and is talkin about hybrid turbo ect and iv been thinking about a remap for my LCR and not sure what the outcome would be.

Personally i think the a hybrid tdi might have the edge as iv seen how some of them can go but dont have any past experience with mapped lcr nor have a seen one in the flash.

Theres power in the tdi!


And a stock lcr would also get dusted with a baby hybrid tdi at a measly 230bhp 350lb/ft





What does a stock lcr do a 1/4 mile in and at what terminal speed?
Same with a mapped one?

Yes... It means it's faster over 1/4 mile.

I think this is a Leon TDI hybrid turbo mapped to 230 vs a cupra 180 mapped to 230.not 100% though as not my mother tongue

Well there you go!

Used to blitz saxo vts's in my old hybrid turbo diesel (was a fabia vrs - but not too dissimilar weight to a bora / golf)

Well i had 199bhp and 300lb/ft!
So nowhere near 230bhp and my 1/4 time was 14.4s with a 97mph terminal!

A 230bhp tdi will have a mid to late 13s 1/4 mile with a 100mph+ terminal

The torque through the rev range on the PD130/PD160 engine when mapped is insane, it picks up so early when the boost kicks in and just goes and goes and goes.

Yup 4th in mine will pull from 40mph to over 100mph very linear like!

Interesting, quite enjoy the defensive LCR chaps not accepting how good derv's are these days!

Just had my FR mapped to approx 190bhp, feels much faster than the 1.8T's i've had in the past courtesy of all that glorious torque so I would love to see what would actually win!

The chap who did my map has a fettled Bora pd130 now running around 250bhp and apparently (and quite literally) smoked a Mk4 R32 running circa 260-270bhp.

You should probably get the work done, then race, and tell us the outcome haha

A bora is hardly a " these days" derv nor is the pd engine (the actual thread question) a modern diesel engine.
