Remote Control Programming 1997 on. (without VAG-COM)

1. Switch ignition ON and leave the key in ignition.
2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the drivers door using a second key.
3. Press the remote control unlock button once and the horn will sound once.
4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button to activate the coding procedure. The remote will now be programmed.
NOTE : If you are programming additional remotes the procedure is the same except you press the unlock button 2, 3 or 4 times (with a 1 second interval) depending on how many you have.
5. Switch ignition off.
6. Remove key from ignition and check operation (just in case )

I tried something similar to that what it says I the manual ( that's for re-synching the fob though)

you're remote locking isn't working?

i take it you've changed the battery & have you got 2 keys to try the resync method?

If not then depending where you are I may be able to help. I do car keys for a living 7 travel all over the country as i arrange group buys etc through a few forums
