I actually like the sound for the feedback and it sounds like it's coming from the exhaust. The sound isn't overdone. Also, when driving below 2500 rpm at constant speed I can't even hear it.

I've yet to experience what it sounds like in the new Leon but I personally loved the sound that the actuator added to the Boc's driving experience. Made you forget that all you had underneath the bonnet was a 1.4 litre engine.

Apparently this is from a Golf Mk7. Going to look for the same on the Leon and if its there unplug it.

Is this only in Seat Leon FR's?

Or will the 1.4 TSI SE come with the sports mode too with the sound tweaking?

That photo looks really odd - Is it through the stereo or is it some form of external device? It doesn't look like its in the exhaust (if that photo is where I think it is).

The photo is from under the bonnet just below the windscreen, not entirely sure how it works but apparently it sends sound waves through the bulkhead/windscreen to give to that 'sporty sound'

Sports mode for that simulated racer touch?

Totally agree....shame they couldn't get the noise out of the exhaust with a little crackle on the over run.....my FR has all the looks, and a great drive..but a little more attention to a tuned exhaust note would have been great !:p

Well, the two diesels basically sound like crap any which way, whereas the 180 TSI sounds brilliant with the actuator. I haven't received my car yet, but the test drive was in one exactly like it and I played around a bit with all of the settings.

So yet another reason to go for petrol. :)

I unplugged mine. I was happy with individual with sport steering and normal engine but its nice to have the red door lighting and dumbed down traction control

You should do in sport mode. Like a droning noise from the windscreen.
I did drive it the other day without the radio on after reading the thread and could not hear anything in any mode, I will try again as it sounds so appealing ( droning ) :p

Out of interest, does the diesel FR make a different sound to the TSI FR?

I can't really imagine an exciting sound coming from a diesel but maybe it is different on the petrol versions.

It would be a bit odd to have petrol engine sounds coming from a diesel engine.

Ive never been in the 1.8tsi but it does sound much better in that video. The diesel one is just a deep drone like a blowing exhaust.

Done about 300 miles in my 184FR and the car is outstanding, but why oh why the stupid made up engine sound in sport mode? On the motorway it is too noisy and the only way round it is to go into normal mode or set up the individual one to normal on engine, and peace descends :D

In sport mode I want all the improved response etc, but don't need the fake sounds. bad idea from VAG.

Anyone else, or is it just me being picky?

I test drove one and thought it sounded really good, the deep sound at low revs reminded me of the turbo cooper s.
