I asked him several times and he confirmed 4wd. Apparently they have not even seen an official picture yet. I am sceptical until better proof is provided.

Just been into my dealer and they have ordered a Cupra. From their information it's 4wd and only available in DSG for a least a few months, expected delivery March. I was just about to order a Golf R, now I'm torn.

All the dealer demos for launch are going to be 280PS DSG's. Dealers have been able to choose their own colour (EMOCION RED, NEVADA WHITE, ICE SILVER, MONSOON GREY, PHANTOM BLACK, DYNAMIC GREY), interior choice (BLACK ALCANTARA, BLACK/BLACK LEATHER, BLACK/GREY LEATHER) and various options. There has been no mention whatsoever of 4WD so no idea where your dealer has got this info from.

Probably a wishful assumption. No mention of a diff or performance pack on the spec sheets though !!!

I'm pretty confident that it will NOT be AWD. If AWD gets signed of it'll be on an R model in the future but even that isn't set in stone.

Its not the first time I've heard rumours of a performance pack ala Golf GTI, I think that is a distinct possibility on the new Cupra, but it'll obviously be optional.

DSG must surely happen, they are pushing it more and more across their range now and offering more choice on engines and transmissions, so hopefully they have woke up and smelt the coffee.

Re a performance pack wouldn't that be listed in the options list quoted on the link above if there was going to be one, and the price list has the Cupra down as 280hk presumably as standard so that also makes it less likely for there to be a performance pack?

Good find at Danish retailer. The prices in the brochure have jumped upwards by 400-500 £. Can't understand the pricing though. If my converter is up to date get Cupra manual price as 422 000 Danish kronor, roughly 47 000 £, it's a lot lot there?! The 1.8 FR TSI 180 hp is near 35 000 £.
In UK the 1.8 SC FR 180 price is 20 000 £. Weird..??

Tax is very high in Denmark and will explain the higher prices

Dealers can now order demo cars but not customer cars...

And yes to confirm the Cupra is 280ps and DSG

Jennings have got a nevada white 5-door on order with leather etc

Would you think 280ps for the front wheels is a bit much?

Would they drive horrible? (I'm sorry I'm speaking from inexperience only 22 and trying to insurance something like that would be a nightmare where I live never owned anything like a 300bhp+ car) been to driving experiences though lol.

The chassis on these cars is great. They wouldn't put something out they didn't feel was balanced and couldn't handle the power. Mine has more (and many on the forum with even more in their MK2's - I have no problem with the front wheels. You just don't drive it too much like a loon. :)

Expect MK3 Cupra to be in with a good chance of picking up more 5 star awards for the new Leon. [B)]

I have seen people on here get some good power out of their Leon's.

I would imagine the leon to pick up some good rewards.
Would you think they would change the design of the Cupra or Cupra R like give it a facelift?

And, I spotted the keyless entry system - that's new to the whole Leon range I believe?

Could be bad translation and its just remote central locking, especially seeing is standard across the range.

Cupra will come in 265ps & 280ps Manual and DSG varients .. SEAT won't be pushing the 265ps version as it is just a pricepoint car .. All dealers will only be asked to reigester 280 versions as demo's and the first orders have gone in all in DSG. These will be the first to arrive in spring 2014 :)

Is Spring defined as March/April or May and does that mean customers will be able to order within the next month or two as well? If dealers can order them now, why wouldn't Seat make a PR statement re details etc?
