Deano what parts of the locks need to come out to be greased ?
What does the regen feel like?
What does the regen feel like?
the exhaust note slightly changes
idle is higher (approx 1k rpm)
if you switch off during a regen the fans will run on for about 2-3 minutes.
So there is no detrimental effects on performance or fuel economy whilst the regen happens? How long will the regen last for?
Nothing apparently.
When you pull on the door handles - you will see a curved slider near the back.
All they do is fire white lithium grease on to the slider.
Many of the door handles left the factory with no lube on the handles - all you are doing is putting there what should have been there.
The problem is worse in winter because salt is in roadspray and it creeps in to the handles.
What are the differences between an FR and say a Sport (pre facelift)?
I've gathered the FR has 15mm lower suspension and thicker ARBs. Any other differences?
Agreed - and to add - the exhaust smells like you have just smoked the tyres - haha
A word of warning about diesels and low mileage use; the two don't work well together.
For a DPF equipped diesel your average journey should be at least 10miles otherwise the DPF will clogup. Never buy a diesel for short journey commutes otherwise it could ultimately cost you more than a petrol to run. This is due to DFR replacement costs or dealer regen costs.
The occasional short journey is safe but I'm talking about the overall use pattern, especially through the winter period. A 2.0L diesel will not fully warmup in 10 miles.
ps. I'd love to own a diesel but my commute is only 10 miles. I get almost 50MPG out of my 1.2TSI petrol on a yearly average.
