burning smell when in reverse and drive? FIXED :)

get this little tiny burn smell when I am in reverse ONLY...

its a little smell but smells like a weird burn kinda smell...

just started doing this and...

its the seat ibiza boc dsg 1.4 with 20.000 miles on....

thats a weird answer, not quite sure what he means, dont see how the clutch plates would be sticking or slipping in reverse only. I wouldn't have thought it was the clutch.......the turbo yes.

Is your car standard? When the turbo oil seals go on these turbos, the burning oil smell is more apparent when in reverse. Also slow moving traffic, you should get a whiff.

It has a miltek cat back on and forge bov...
No it doesn't smell like oil it smells like burning stone lol.... Like a match stick off smell
It boosts spot on and no smoke anywhere so...

Right this only happens every now and then in reverse not all the times....

Off topic Troupy but I couldn't help but notice your based in the tyne and wear area. I drove past a white boc similar to yours this morning down Mandela Way next to Costco. Wasn't you by any chance? I drive a speed blue cupra.

went to the dealership...

they found a split inner O/S cv boot joint this has caused that awful smell!!

seems it went everywhere on hot conponements..

so glad its sorted they even cleaned my car lol
