Hello all. Tomorrow i'm going back to view a Leon fr 2.0tfsi thats for sale.
I had a quick look/short test drive, but before going back for a better drive tomorrow there's a few questions i'd like to ask.

Firstly its a 57 plate with 50k on. Apparently just been serviced at the dealer inc waterpump and cambelt. It has full stamps in the service book, most from main dealers but without the invoices to match. (some invoices are included from the non dealer garages).

Only problems I can see is moldy bonnet lining (not to bad fix hopefully) and a slight layer of mayo in oil cap. Now that usually shouts alarms, but on this engine could it be a case of it being stood a while/short journeys?

One more question is that it has a small black box on the dash at the drivers side with a wire hiding away. Is this part of and auto wipers/headlights or parking sensors? (Not had any before).

Thanks in advance.

moldy bonnet lining is normal as there were problems with clips holding it and rain water was leaking through. Revised version was available from dealers and fitted free of charge along with new bonnet lining.

mayo is typical for cold weather, nothing to worry about, just some condensation.

By the way I've got 58 plate for sale (advert on here pending) for £8,000 - maybe you'd be interested? 2.0T DSG - 29k miles.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully all will be well. I need to shift my current car (ideally part ex) but need to see what they offer.

Well ended up buying the car, and what a beaut it is! Didn't get to see the paintwork much as it was raining, but thankfully its in excellent condition. All the history is there and gave it a good drive to get any condensation out, its all it needed.
Best car purchase yet.
