Dashboard gear numbers

Can you turn on the gear numbers on the dashboard screen? My mate has a deseil one on the same year but he has the gear numbers on the speedo screen thingy, so can you turn it on

His may be an ecomotive as I know they came with gear shift indicators and stop start etc. Not sure if it's something that can be activated via. VAGCOM but I would imagine it can.

Odd, mine's a sport diesel and has the gear indicators.

It would have me doing 30mph in 6th with the engine shaking its head off if i followed it.

I think it looks smart but it would be nice if you could turn it on or off

The first Ibiza I had in 2009 was a 1.4 se and it didn't have the indicator so maybe it became standard on some.models after this ?

Think it was a 2011 change, my 09MY didn't have and nor did a friends 10MY but I remember borrowing an 11MY which had it. All the good old 1.4

ridiculous, isn't it? I just ignore mine and I hope my cars previous owner also ignored it. Driving about everywhere at 1200rpm can't be good for the longevity of the engine or transmission.

Dsg is just as bad as mine changes up at about 35 -40 to 7th, lol, like you said can't be good for the engine but it's great for mpg

Yeah mine also asks me to switch to 5th at 25, not the best thing to do be an so my car doesnt go like a rocket as it is. I think its time to upgrade to new cupra, just dont fancy the money i will lose due to mine being bought brand new last year.
