Yes I believe so.

Wonder what the insurance difference is between Golf GTi and Leon Cupra and if the Leon Cupra is cheaper to insure with the ACC.

It has to cheaper to insure with it spec'd. Admittedly I'm only saving £30 a year driving the golf but that may not be accurate as I switched part way through my cover.

As a comparison of its warm hatch sibling ;)

I am 40yo (i know old git) in a brand new unmodified SC FR 1.8TSI DSG (valued to the insurers at its RRP of nearly £27k) with every bit of cover except breakdown cover. It has legal, hire car, guaranteed no claims cover. Parked on my drive, in a SK postcode was around £450 for the year.

I also have separate Gap insurance with ALA for a 3 years period, that was about £150 one off payment for the 3 years.

Could of got my car insurance for under £250 but thought the level of cover and the reviews from previous customers put me off the cheap and cheerful price. Cheap isn't always better.

Compared to my modified Mk2, all mods declared was getting on for nearly £680 a year

Was the £680 with all the trimmings i.e. comparable to the £450 or the £250?

It was comparable in that what it covered, I always have guaranteed no claims, legal and hire car on a policy. I opted for the more expensive policy on the FR generally because of its value.

Obviously the value of my Mk2 Cupra dropped over the years, it was 6 years old when I sold it, it was covered for its market value, but the modifications obviously bumped the risk up, and were covered under the policy.

If it was completely standard at its market value I was getting similar quotes to the FR, between £250 and £500 and the odd daft one at about £2500 ( I guess they don't want to insure them). :D

Thanks. That sounds like good value. Now I just need about a year to pass very quickly :)

Specced up a CUPRA 280 excluding leather seats and variable speed and distance control. £29500.00 almost............that is a bit of a premium if a have to be honest. For reference it was the SC with DSG.

Have you included paint in that?

Hmm why is Nav on the options list, thought it was standard? Unless it's different between the 265 and 280

Optional on the Cupra but standard on the Cupra 280.
ACC is also NOT available on the CUPRA at all and ONLY on the CUPRA 280

Have you included paint in that?

Yeah i did but left out one or two things i felt were not important to me.

I thought everything was pretty much standard on the Cupra 280 , thought only choices you could make were paint , wheels and leather interior ?

I'm sure winter pack is standard ?

Obviously you didn't have any discount.
If it was my £££££ I would be expecting to pay around £25k

Pretty sure if it was your £££ Rob you'd not be buying another SEAT after your dire run of luck and bad customer service from SEAT

I can't work out why you'd buy the 'poverty' Cupra - the spec on the 280 almost pays for the difference, and the extra power is paid for.

I imagine that's SEAT UK's model though, hence all dealer orders are 280's

Shame about the colour palette - I hoped for something lairy

Here's the spec list...

Here are the options, I don't know how to save it the way Scott does lol. Leather is not even an option on the CUPRA and only on the
