Thought I'd start a thread on the changes ive recently made to my FR
Had it around 6 months and it originally looked like this

Originally fancied either a red or white one. Plumped for this in the end.

First up the alloys needed a refurb and it was a straight choice for me between anthracite and gloss black. Opted for the gloss black and went with yellow for the colour of the calipers.

Head unit next.
Also sprayed the interior surround plastics black as I didn't like the grey colour at all. Shamelessly copying it from another thread on here.

As it currently stands.
Also fitted LED sidelights (which look fantastic) also replaced the headlights with 4250k ones.
LED number plate lights also look rather nice.
Red LED footwell lights also installed. Currently wired to be on all the time but may change that to come on and off with the courtesy lights.
Needs a good clean now. Just waiting for the weather to improve a touch.
Not sure what to do next:D

Hi id say to finish it
Limo black tints all round
Wrapped gloss black roof or sprayed?
Fly eyes headlight tint kit
and finally coilovers so it sits sweet
But nice car tho mate looks smart already

Finally got hold of facelift heater control panel. One of my major gripes with car was having to continually pressing those buttons to adjust the temperature.

Sprayed the door trim panels gloss black.

And finally a nice little touch on the boot badge to go with the yellow black theme on the wheels.

Looks good mate, liking the yellow on the FR badge.

Looking for a FL climate control unit myself but needs to have the heated seat buttons. Quite rare to come by.

Thanks bud.
Took me a while to get hold of the unit but it's well worth it in my opinion.

Toying with the idea of spraying the door trims and speaker grilles red to tie in with red theme that runs throughout the interior. Not the speaker grilles but the circular surround would be more accurate. Also maybe the air vent rings.
Would it look a bit daft being a blue car? Thoughts.
Anybody else done something similar with theirs?
Pictures would be appreciated if anybody has any.
Thanks

Like those wheels mate, yellow calipers look smart too.

hi, i am thinking of upgrading to the facelift climate control, does this have its own display for temp etc, or do you need to upgrade the standard stereo for a double din one to be able to read the temp display. sorry if it seems a daft question lol.

The two dials on the unit have temperature markings on them that illuminate. No display as such though. Fan speed is set via the rocker switch that sits between the two dials.

So i am right in assuming i do not need to upgrade the original stereo to a rns 510 etc to be able to use the new climate unit ;)

thanks for the reply...

Lovely Motor!!

Newbie Numpty here, but is it possible to swap over a climate control from a mark 2 05-09 model with a new facelift one i.e. is it plug and play or a bit more complex?

I assume you mean change it from the unit in post 3 to the one in post 9? Yes it's plug and play. However mine is always switched off when I start the car. I think you have swap a wire over in one the plugs for it retain it's memory. If that makes sense.
