Been quite a while since i posted on here really due to personal reasons, never got much done to my current 1.2TSI SE Copa either. But after 33K miles, having a longer drive to work now and it being due for MOT, Tax and service it seemed wise to look into new options.

So after test driving a 1.6TDi SE Octavia estate, a 1.6TDI SE Leon ST and being impressed with both but much more so by the leon i test drove a 184ps FR Sc and was so impressed i enquired about an ST FR 184ps. Luckily for me there is one at port which has exactly the spec im after.

Monsoon grey, Convinience pack, spare wheel (obviously), Technology pack. :D

There will be a few little things planned for it but they will wait until my other toy ('89 Peugeot 305 van) is finished.

So are there many other ST owners on here and if so what is your feedback? :)

I'll be joining you soon with an FR ST (hopefully being built this week). Haven't seen many others being discussed on here other than the review of the Demo Car by Syphon.
My switch is from an Exeo ST so not such a big change here.
You got lucky with your choices, I know when I was looking to order initially (end Jan) there was nothing available in stock or at the docks and I was looking for a similar spec and Monsoon Grey at that point.
Have you been given an idea as to how soon the dealer will get the car from the docks?
Be interested to get your initial thoughts when yours arrives.

I have my new Leon ST on order too. I've yet to see a single one on the roads!

I've ordered a 1.2 SE DSG with a few goodies plus the free Tech Pack, in Phantom Black. I'm probably slightly outside the norm in that I didn't like the FR as much. You do get a bit more kit, but I preferred the softer ride you get on the slightly smaller wheels. I just added a couple of goodies like the parking sensors to spec it back up.

Mine is looking like early may delivery according to the dealer, so I'm in for a bit of a wait! Can't go quickly enough!

Also ordered an FR ST 2.0TD 184ps DSG.
Technic Grey
Black leather seats with winter pack
FR+ pack (convenience pack, navi, 18" wheels, front and rear aps)
16" spare wheel (found out the 18" spare comes with the seat sound option wich I couldn't choose according to the dealer, found out later I could, too bad :s)
Full led pack
Pack FR Dynamic (progressive steering, DCC)
Pack illumination

Don't know a build or delivery date though. Ordered it end of January

Verstuurd van mijn GT-I9505

I'm with you there Yellowcone87, the only one I have actually seen on the road was a reflection in a shop window when taking a test drive.

Still early days I guess.

Well my credit is awful (due to an ex) so have had to put the finance in my parents name. They're currently on holiday for the week so will have to sign all the paperwork next week. But as a guide figure I was advised I should be able to take possession by the end of march.

Well I test drove a 1.6Tdi SE Octavia estate which was great, the Leon ST 1.6Tdi SE was even better though. Then after driving a Leon SC 2.0Tdi (184) FR, can imagine the chassis will be very similar set up. Sod joule be awesome.

Suppose it depends how you drive and what you want from the car. As my SE Copa is such a high spec (ex-demo) I wanted to be sure I was getting at least the same spec. But then the towing requirement meant I can't really get away with a smaller engine (other than the 150 maybe).

Personally the ride wasn't an issue for me, I like to feel what's happening underneath me. The alloys will be coming off in favour of steels anyhow. Can't stand alloys lol.

Completely agree, it all depends what you're after. I seriously considered a 1.6Tdi FR manual which I could have had much sooner, but after test driving the petrol I went for the 1.2, since I only do around 10k miles a year I don't need the diesel. I'm coming from a Nissan Qashqai that I hate with a passion, so the Leon feels like a massive improvement all round!

The FR is a lovely car, but I'm hardly Michael Schumacher nowadays, so I'm not worried about blistering performance, for me the 1.2 felt quite punchy. But then as I say, coming from a qashqai I'm sure a Prius would feel lively!

I always liked the Leon, but needed a bit more room, so the ST sold itself without too much persuasion needed!

@yellowcone87,
Really happy with my 6 month old 1.2TSI +DSG upspecced like yours with Tech pack, convenience pack, climate, comfort, F+R sensors, folding door mirrors etc.
Very chuckable, easy to drive great economy. Good price , 0% etc

What's not to like?

Looks very nice. Glad your pleased with the way it drives.

I collect mine later this week (currently sat at the dealers awaiting PDI and registration) but managed to get a quick look on Saturday.

Be nice to see a few of these on the road...

Looks great in that colour. I ordered mine in Technic Grey but this one is also looking great.

Cheers all :)

Something I feel must be noted. The FR is far from uncomfortable in any of the MK3 body styles. However it is a lot more comfortable in the estate. So would seriously recommend anyone who's looking at an ST and tempted by an FR try one in any of the body shapes and you will find the ST the most comfortable.

Dare I say it I think my FR is more comfortable than the softer SE personally. Can't think the ride on 18"s would be as nice though.
