Help with dogbone mount!

Hi all


Fitted my dogbone mount today which is fully polybushed to my mk1 cupra r.
All the bolts are tight etc but for some reason at idle the car seems to be really noisey inside now. Is this normal or would you say somethings wrong?
Really strange.

You need to change you idle speed a tad (you need vagcom). Also the new bush needs some "settling in".

I bought it second hand. What should the idle be set to on vagcom?

Fitting mine tomorrow, how are you finding it when driving? Is there a noticeable difference?

I've left it at my work today so I cant really comment.
But, be careful un-doing the 2 13mm bolts as they corode in and can snap. One of mine did.
Also, the main 16mm bolt into the gearbox, make sure u clean the threads. Someone has been fiddling with mine before and the bolt was loose when I found it, no threads there so had to hellicoil it

Yes, way less wheelhop.

Idle adjustment is trial and error btw. I needed to up it about 50 rpm (if I remember correctly)

I've adjusted the bolt holding both bushes together and feels better but not there and that was torqued to 20nm :/

Would a dogbone mount affect braking?
