Title says it all, I'm wondering if anyone has measured their 0-60 acceleration after remapping/tuning boxing their 1.2 FR?

Does the remap give the car noticably more grunt?

I had the 1.2TSi in the Leon. Mine was remapped to 129bhp and it transformed the car. It had a good amount of pull but the mpg was as good as standard! Definitely worth the money and worth doing it. You'll see a difference 100%.

Thanks! Should have mentioned, I don't have one yet but I'm looking around to upgrade my 1.4 Mk4 to something with a bit more guts and better economy, and I just want to compare what I can get out of various engines.

Rightly or wrongly I'm put off the Mk5 turbo 1.4 because of the negative reports, but there's also the psychology.. going from a 1.4 to a 1.2 and expecting a power increase..

But the Mk5 1.2 FR TSI performance doesn't look that far off the Mk4 1.9 FR TDI which I also have my eye on.. maybe with a remap I'll be happy with it?

From a 1.4 n/a to a 1.2tsi you'll already see a good performance increase. I believe the 0-60 is 9.5 as standard, with the remap and pushing 130bhp I'd have thought it would be in the high 8 seconds, 8.8 or something maybe. Certainly a nippy car anyway, the Leon was no slouch with that engine!

WIthout a remap the difference will be much more than you'd expect from the 85 to 105 PS power increase. The turbo means that there is far more torque at low engine speeds so you can make good progress without having to rev. the engine like crazy.

Any problem? And can you tell the difference

I don't have the car anymore but there was definitely a difference. When I sold the car I had to go back to the dealer as my new log book hadn't arrived, I just happened to speak to a salesman who test drove my old car and he asked if it had been mapped cos it felt really quick!

I had an issue with a leaking injector, but that wasn't caused by the map. The map will have accelerated the issue though!
